I was never looking for friends
but then I met you guys!!

这个夏天认识了很多可爱的人，虽然没有来得及和每个新朋友拍照，但认识你们太开心了，希望下次还可以一起看葵葵啊。I went to five of Chris‘s shows this summer and I love all the friends I made along the way🥹🥹

最近尤其想猕猴桃@ayuuuuu_c 和自行车@jenniferryz ，谢谢你们在伦敦全程陪着我……带着我打卡逛景点甚至在美食荒漠顿顿都吃了好吃的。出发去伦敦之前我知道会很开心，但还是没想到能这么开心！每天随地大小发疯到处搞抽象哈哈哈，那几天我头一直晕晕的，应该是笑太多头都缺氧了。适应独来独往的生活所以格外珍惜陪伴，香港九年都没有伦敦那一周felt like home。谢谢你们……肉麻的话说挺多啦哈哈，认识你们真的好幸运，期待我们的德国城堡旅行❤️ taken in Everywhere by @jennypppeng

Too many stuff to post, I guess I‘ll start from here. Never been a good storyteller so please bear with my rambling...

Chris showed up randomly on my instagram feed in 2020, right when the pandemic began. I remember it was a silly video of him hitting mugs & furniture and turning those random sounds into a little song. At first I didn’t realize he was an artist, he was simply some guy on the internet, I thought his songs were cool and he seemed so so weird but in the most wonderful way.

The years 2020-2022 were hard for me, I went through 897 days without seeing any of my friends or family, and on top of that, I lost two people that meant the world to me. It happened all too suddenly and it felt like the world was testing me in ways I wasn‘t prepared for. I spend a lot of time alone in my apartment, with the stereo on and singing to myself, I don’t what to sound overly dramatic, but in all the ways that I felt broken, music helped me-or at least it kept me in good company.

I listened to Chris‘s song every single day, so when I finally got to meet him, it felt incredibly natural and reassuring, it was like seeing an old friend that I grew up with. It felt like I knew him already, and somehow he understood the journey I had been through.

In 2023 I got tickets to see his Shenzhen show, I wasn’t particularly fond of crowds, but I made myself go anyway. I got tied up with work that night and by the time I arrived at the venue, the show had already started. I found myself standing way in the back, squeezing in the dark with fellow fans, watching the person in my earphones perform before my eyes. Before I knew it I was singing and dancing (more like wiggling) with the strangers around me. That was the first live show I ever went to, and I was irrevocably hooked ever since.

I made a promise to myself that when Chris came back on tour, I will be in the front row. And so I was, I kept that promise to every show I went to this year. And I can‘t believe my goddamn luck. by @jennypppeng
