Like every summer it has been a fantastic week in Arles during @rencontresarles and @festivaloffarles!

Showing „Mental Health Kintsugi“ @iris_arles , meeting old colleagues and friends and making new ones. Ending the week with a little road trip (and a nod to the Bechers) to return home full of inspiration and with new impulses.

Looking forward to being back next summer! taken in Arles, France by @jens_umbach

Happy to announce that my series "Utopias Lost or Found" has been shortlisted at @kolgatbilisiphoto and will be exhibited there from May 01, 2026.

It shows houses in the Egyptian desert.
Ruins? Active construction sites? Formerly inhabited houses? A persons dreams shattered or in the making? One can only guess.
This uncertainty creates tension and invites us to reflect on life paths, hopes, dreams, and realities.

I am looking for English speakers who want to be part of my project on mental health and share their stories and be photographed.

Your portrait will be burned on a ceramic tile, which will be broken and mended with 24-carat gold following the Japanese Kintsugi tradition - symbolizing the beauty of imperfection and the idea that ruptures are part of our history and make us more beautiful and stronger.

If you have been or are still living with a mental illness and are willing to share your experiences, I would love to hear from you.

Your experiences can give hope and resilience to others.

Together we can raise awareness for mental health. 💪❤️

November 2025.
