Motherhood has a funny way of holding up a mirror you didn’t ask for.

There are days when I look at my daughter and think, Why do you have to argue about EVERYTHING? Why do you always need the last word? Why are you so stubborn? 😅

And then I remember…

I was exactly like this.

Strong-willed. Opinionated. Stubborn. Always questioning. Always ready to defend my side.

The difference is, I’m the mom now. So when her behaviour pushes my buttons, I’m not just dealing with her emotions—I’m also confronting parts of myself that I recognize in her.

And honestly, that’s not always easy.

Because sometimes the things I want to correct in her are the very things I’ve had to learn to understand about myself.

I’m learning that parenting a strong-willed child isn’t about breaking their spirit or making them easier to handle.
It’s about learning how to guide them while still letting them be who they are.

Maybe she’s not my karma. Maybe she’s my reminder.

Because the parts of her I’m learning to parent are the parts of myself I’m still learning to understand. 🤍

And just like that, the kids are back to school tomorrow! 📚🥹 But we had to check ONE last thing off their summer bucket list… Hologram Zoo!

We took the kids to experience the Underwater show at @hologramzoovancouver, and it was such a cool experience!

The ocean came to life all around us, with incredible sea creatures appearing right in front of us. Watching the kids explore, react, and get completely immersed in the experience was so much fun!

It honestly felt like we had stepped into an underwater world—minus the swimming, wet hair, and cold water. 😂

The best part? They didn’t want to leave! They were already asking to come back and try the other themes.

Definitely a fun way to end the summer—and one more adventure to add to the memories!

We were invited to sneak a peek at @laderach_na’s new store before the grand opening today… and with a family full of sweet tooths, how could we say no?! 🍫🤎

From the moment we walked in, EVERYTHING was tempting. The chocolates were beautifully displayed and honestly looked like little works of art—you almost don’t know where to look or what to try first!

Of course, we had to taste our way through some of their favourites, including their signature FrischSchoggi—and let’s just say the taste tests kept going. 😂

But surprisingly, my girls’ favourite was the classic milk chocolate. So simple, yet it tasted like absolute HEAVEN! 🤎 Sometimes you really don’t need anything fancy.

If you’re a chocolate lover, this is definitely a sweet spot you’ll want to check out!

The girls had SO much fun giving their slime a beauty-inspired glow-up! ✨💖

We tried the new Gui Gui Fruity Glow from @guigui and @moosetoys, and the 5-step transformation process made it so much fun! From mixing and prepping to revealing the final look, every step brought a little surprise.

The beauty-inspired slime comes together with fun textures, fruity scents and shimmer, and the girls loved watching their creations transform right before their eyes!

Definitely such a fun, creative activity for a day of slime, experimenting and making something totally their own!

Some things really do stand the test of time. I got this little puppy when I was in Grade 2, and seeing my daughter love it just as much at the same age feels so special. A little piece of my childhood, now part of hers. 🥹🐶

Summer, you’re setting the bar high. ☀️💛

So far we’ve made new friends, explored new places, celebrated birthdays, squeezed in endless play dates, camped under the stars, spent countless hours in the water, watched Aria learn to ride her bike, cheered on FIFA and soccer became the focus of our summer, watched Axel try a new hair colour for the first time, and laughed more than I can count.

It’s been a season full of little moments that somehow become the biggest memories.

And we’re only halfway through.

I had so much fun exploring the pop-up, but the best part? Bringing home some goodies for my kids to unbox! They’re definitely the bigger One Piece fans in our family, so seeing their excitement made the experience even more special.

Water safety is something I never take lightly, especially as a mom of adventurous kids. 💦☀️

These are 3 things I never skip: ✔️ Swim lessons with @pedalheads to build strong, life-saving skills ✔️ @janandjul UPF 50+ swimwear for added sun protection ✔️ Bright, high-visibility colours that are easier to spot in the water

No single thing can replace active supervision, but these simple choices help give my kids confidence in the water and give me a little extra peace of mind.

Here’s to a summer filled with safe splashes, big smiles, and unforgettable memories. 💛
