POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve always considered my sister @amandatplease93 my confidant, my secret keeper, my story-sharer. But now, nothing could please me more than the thought of her embarking on the next phase of her life with @dmtaxay, and the stories they will tell and share together for the rest of their lives — ones, I have a hunch, will all have happy endings.

To Mandy (or, as everyone else knows her, Amanda) and Dianne. May all their stories be great ones.

(And duh, @zoropgh and I had a total blast at their gorgeous wedding.) by @jereichwrites

Forgot to mention—got married to my basheret (and glam icon) @zoropgh in April. More photos to (hopefully!) come.

Edited to add: The themes were “Met Gala-lite” and “gay as hell,” not necessarily in that order.

Yes, the rumors are true; proof that we are actually #engayged. (And getting married two weeks from now.)

Edited to add: Don’t worry, we’ve been together for 6+ years and engaged for a year and a half; we’re just great at procrastinating hard launches, I guess.

There may be some scant spoilers afoot in my piece on #TheBride! for @movieweb, but I’m going to go ahead and say you’ll like my take if you like my first sentence:

“When speaking about her career during Hollywood’s Golden Age, British-American actor Elsa Lanchester knew, by all accounts, that the only thing she’d be remembered for was never her words, but her screams.”

And this interpretation:

“In [Maggie] Gyllenhaal’s movie, the world operates on a single infuriating piece of tautology. The stories we read or see on screen are lies, but they also mimic the stories we base our lives on. Stories are lies and lies are stories, and it’s enough to drive us beyond the brink.”

If all goes well, tonight's record-breaking #Oscars contender @sinnersmovie could usher in a new era for Black representation in Hollywood. But nearly a decade ago, the groundbreaking masterpiece #Moonlight seemed to promise that, too. I wrote for @movieweb about how industry gatekeeping in 2016 prevented a sea change that we might finally witness in 2026.
