Great ride out to the Oregon coast (and back) with the @pasnormalstudios_na crew. Shout outs to all involved…many fun conversations were had in those brief 300+ miles over the weekend. 😝 Special shoutouts to Mark & Jimmy for supplying the, uh, laughs for the weekend. And that extra CR2032 hanging out in my saddle bag waiting for its moment to shine. Would do it again, I think. by @jeremyddunn

I’m basically Spanish now. I’ll live out my days here waking early (lol, sunrise was 8:05) to run next to the water and look at the footballers villas. Adopt me please @cesarvillalbajr. Or at least let’s visit more often. Always near Christmas when no one is here. Please love this Frankie & the Witch Fingers track as much as I do. by @jeremyddunn

Here’s a fun one for you. A wild MTB ride with my father in law Zbig turned into a history lesson regarding bunkers on the front lines of what was Germany during WWI. This shit is wild, and what is more wild to think about while pedaling past steel pikes and barbed wire fences set up to maim, is that this is where my wife cruised around as a kid perfecting her skills. It’s no wonder that she freaked out a couple years back when I tried to enter one of these bigger bunkers. It was one of those times when you just know your spouse is not messing around and you immediately do as your told. (I’ve had a few). It’s hard to show off just how crazy this landscape is, with its strangely deep mortar blown creases in the earth. Anyway, there are some trophies and pics of the former WC and 🌻 at the end to lighten the mood. 🤯 // Shout out to Papa for continuing to rock all that Athletic gear to the max! by @jeremyddunn

That look back in the sprint! It wasn’t even fair to the rest of his breakaway compatriots. The town of Saint Étienne came out for the Tour de France today. And if this is the only place I’m going to be able to catch up with Presse Man Ian Boswell in person, then I’m going for it. Also shout out to Uran who made a grown man openly weep with joy and phone in his family from Colombia 🇨🇴 directly after. It was awesome to watch him be so gracious with his time after a hot hot day in the saddle. The EF mini-bus was the only team bus I saw people actively requesting bottles, t-shirts, anything from. And the music track? All the credit goes to my brother in law William for the weirdo vibes. Go listen to the whole thing, lol. by @jeremyddunn

Alpe d’Huez. A camera crew from Arte came into the rapha office in Portland once and asked me how I pronounce this classic climb. Then, when I mangled it, as one does when they try out a different language, they all burst out laughing. I laughed too, but inside I was learning a lot about the French and their culture. 😑 Anyway, the jangly climbing hair bun is back on the Alpe d’Huez this afternoon. We drove up. Rolled down. Turned around and started climbing. Whoof! We talked about Elephantino, Lance, Alberto, Voeckler’s wagging tongue and a few other fine attacks, and also why wouldn’t this climb feature in the Tour de France Femmes…it’s so good. Also, Wout’s song is “Sweet Caroline” according to those Belgians that brought 600 beers up there, we caught todays finish with them and I don’t think they even noticed. by @jeremyddunn

As you can see here the bun went from neat and tidy to frazzled as the day wore on. Just like the riders! Stops for pizza and beers with sirop ( 🍑 🍋) in them mandatory. Even with 10k to go, this is fine. My legs feel like loaner legs to match the loaner bike. Thanks Fabien, no thanks Delta. We didn’t really make dog friends, they’re just friends with each other and we happen to be here. Still love this song after all these years, we used to BLAST it at Cambridge Bicycle and jangle our short shorts with too many keys on a carabiner and wave our dirty hands around. I guess this is just a different jangle and wave, but my hands were still dirty from that pizza and sirop. by @jeremyddunn

French Vacation kicked off with a hot mess of getting from the airport into town and dumping bags (can’t dump the bike bag that didn’t show up though) and headed straight to Roland Garros to watch my sister in law Caro win a tennis match at the French National Championship. This was well before the homemade plum brandy from the 80’s was broken out. Jet lag is a rude thing that creeps in behind your eyeballs, and I can’t safely say that day two kicked off without a hangover. I do love watching tennis though. by @jeremyddunn
