CHAPTER 43: 🎂🎉🙏🏾

This birthday feels different.

I traveled across the world to Japan, but the biggest journey was within myself.

A new appreciation for patience, discipline, simplicity, and living with intention.

Leaving behind old habits, distractions, and anything that no longer serves my purpose. Keeping God at the center, family close, and my focus on what truly matters.

At 43, I’m still learning, still growing, and trusting God’s timing through it all. by @jerinthejerk

Have y’all checked out Nola native @jerinthejerk ‘s amazing artwork? 💪🏽🫶🏽❤️One of his most recent pieces is a painting of #NolanWells.🙏🏽 I just had to get an interview with him about it.🫶🏽

Jerin Beasley says he really wanted to capture Wells’ final moments as a happy teen, enjoying life with friends.

This as family, friends and supporters are calling for a federal investigation into the teen’s July death.💔
So many questions remain, but Beasley like many others just want to keep Wells’ name alive.

The 8th Ward native says he will likely sell the painting and donate all proceeds to Wells’ mom and dad.🫶🏽❤️

NO SIGNAL. TOKYO, JAPAN. 🇯🇵🟠

Been walking these streets, taking in the details, letting my mind wander. Finding inspiration in places I’ve never been and making room for whatever comes next.

New Orleans in my soul. Tokyo through my lens.

( ✍🏾 @winsleymelan ) Artist @jerinthejerk has created a portrait of Nolan Wells titled A Face Worth Remembering, using his artistry to honor Nolan’s memory. 🎨🖤 The painting offers a moment to pause, remember and hold space for those who knew and loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nolan’s family and loved ones at this difficult time, and we hope they feel surrounded by love and support. 🙏🏽🤍

Nolan Wells. A face worth remembering. A name worth saying. A family deserving of love, answers, and justice.

Painting his smile, I wanted to hold on to the warmth and humanity that can get lost when someone’s life becomes a headline. My palette carries those emotions: red for love, pain, and the urgency of demanding justice; deep blues and dark tones for grief and the weight of a system clouded by corruption. Teal blue for the water he last smiled on. The warm orange and golden tones honor his light, while the touches of brighter colors leave room for hope.

Through this portrait, I’m adding my voice to the call for accountability. Families deserve a justice system they can trust, one that values the lives they hold dear.

Sending love to everyone carrying Nolan and other victims in their hearts. We will keep saying their name. 🧡

NO WE NOT going to give up on you💪🏾

Controlling the algorithm, before the algorithm controlled us.

Before likes, shares, and Wi-Fi… we took it to the streets. Word of month. Block by block. Hand to hand. Real connection. #nowifi #jerkart

NO WiFi is a visual collection of nostalgic memories from childhood, family, friends, toys, bikes, basketball and a time when real connection didn’t require much.

It's not about going backwards. Just remembering what we lost moving forward.

NO WiFi experience. This Fall.
