🎓✨ Congratulations to our 2026 Angel B. Wilson Chief Scholarship Recipients: Ky’ene Wimberly and Terry Moore II!Both proud graduates of Miami Carol City Senior High School, Ky’ene and Terry represent the very best of what it means to be a Chief: leading with pride, serving with purpose, and lifting up the community that raised them.Ky’ene has served her school as Junior Class President, Miss Sophomore, and Miss Miami Carol City, using her platform to inspire school spirit, unity, and positive change. Adding to her list of accomplishments, she will also be graduating with her Associate of Arts degree in Political Science, a remarkable achievement that speaks to her drive and bright future ahead. This fall, Ky’ene will be taking her talents to Louisiana State University as a proud member of the Class of 2030. 💜💛 Geaux Tigers! 🐯Terry has led his school with discipline and heart, serving as Drum Major for four consecutive years, Mr. Senior 2025-2026, Chaplain of the Omega Psi Phi LampLighter 305 Organization, and Secretary of the Law Honor Society. A decorated musician, he’s earned top honors at both FAMU and Bethune-Cookman band camps and lives by Maya Angelou’s words, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” This fall, Terry will be taking his talents to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University as a proud member of the Rattler family. 🐍🍊 Strike, Rattlers! We can’t wait to see all that you both accomplish. The Chief legacy is in great hands. 👑Angel’s legacy will live on 🕊️.#CarolCity #Scholarship #MiamiDadeCounty #AngelWilson #AngelBWilsonFoundation by @jeromefultonjr

Happy Mother’s Day, Angel.I would choose you as my mother in every lifetime, under any circumstances, no matter the outcome.I cry silent tears for you every day. I think of you every day.I wonder what you would look like now, who you would have become, and how you would feel knowing that your photos from the ’90s are still resonating across generations.I love you, I miss you, and I am honored to be the only person in the world who gets to call you Mom.My favorite thing about myself is being your son.08/30/1972 - 12/01/1998 🖤 by @jeromefultonjr

Legacy. Black excellence. Time well spent. ✊🏿On February 28, 2026—the final day of Black History Month—I had the honor of moderating Mandell Crawley’s keynote, Time Well Spent: Building an Enduring Career with Impact. What made the moment even more meaningful wasn’t just the message—it was the mirror.Mandell and I share a life parallel that isn’t easy to name out loud: we both lost our parents at a young age. That kind of loss doesn’t just change your childhood—it changes your lens. It forces you to grow up early, to carry responsibility early, and to figure out how to keep going when life doesn’t come with a roadmap. Two people shaped by grief, choosing purpose. Two journeys that could’ve ended in silence, but instead became fuel—for impact, for community, and for legacy.Mandell spoke about building a career that lasts—not just one that looks good on paper, but one that means something. The kind of career where your influence shows up in how you treat people, how you lead, how you mentor, and how you make room for the next person.I left reminded that success isn’t just what you achieve—it’s what you build that outlives you.Forever grateful for the conversation, the wisdom, and the reminder that our stories—no matter how painful—can still produce power.Legacy. Impact. Black excellence. ✊🏿Thank you, @aasuhbs !📸: @evephoto by @jeromefultonjr
