Honored to serve as emcee for the Executive Forum at @amazonwebservices Summit Washington, DC, bringing together more than 350 leaders from government, defense, academia, healthcare, and industry to discuss the future of AI, innovation, and leadership.

A few highlights from an incredible day:

• Dave Levy, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector, Healthcare & Life Sciences at AWS, kicking off the day with a compelling keynote on leading through the next era of technological transformation.

• Steve Schmidt, Chief Security Officer at @amazon, and The Honorable Brandon Williams, Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and Administrator of the NNSA, discussing operational trust, resilience, and security in the age of AI.

• Dr. Erin Rothwell, Senior Vice President for Research at the University of Utah, and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 4th Congressional District, exploring how AI, supercomputing, and partnerships are accelerating innovation and national competitiveness.

• Amber Shultz, Cabinet Secretary of the Kansas Department of Labor, sharing how AI-powered modernization is transforming constituent services and strengthening public trust.

• Cameron Stanley, Chief Digital & AI Officer of DoD, discussing what it takes to move AI from pilots to production while balancing speed, governance, and accountability.

I’m also excited to help bring two major AWS innovations to our public sector customers:
- AWS Secret Cloud for Industry
- Forward Deployed AI Engineers

For a long time, I thought being strong meant handling everything on my own. What I’ve learned is that real strength is found in vulnerability, faith, and community.

I believe God has called me this year to intentionally pour into other men. We need more examples of positive masculinity—men who lead with character, humility, and compassion.

This past Friday, I had the privilege of participating in a Brothers & Brothers gathering hosted by @bendmv at @amazon, creating space for men to connect, encourage one another, and have honest conversations. Moments like these remind me that none of us were meant to carry life’s burdens alone.

Grateful to share this conversation during Men’s Mental Health Month. My hope is that it reminds another brother that asking for help isn’t weakness—it’s strength.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Last month, I addressed over 5,000 attendees at the @pbs_1914 Conclave Opening Ceremony in Tampa! As a proud member (Pi Iota Chapter, @charlestonsouthern, Fall ’99), this moment was especially meaningful.

I announced @amazon ‘s “In This Together” partnership - focused on emerging tech careers, supplier development, e-commerce education, professional training (AI and cloud computing), accessibility solutions, and innovation partnerships.

Dad moment: My daughters Arianna and Alyse were there to see me present! I definitely wanted to show them that their dad is pretty cool and actually does things! 😂

This partnership with Phi Beta Sigma, Inc., our sister sorority @zphibinc1920, and the Divine 9’s networks ensures the next generation of tech leaders reflects the communities they serve.

Grateful to Phi Beta Sigma, Inc. leadership and our amazing Amazon team for making this partnership possible.

I had the opportunity to give the opening remarks at the AWS Machine Learning University AI Teaching & Research Symposium at @howard1867 and was honored to see some of those remarks quoted in Howard’s article about the event.

As Executive Sponsor of the @amazonwebservices Machine Learning University Educators Consortium, this work means a lot to me. More than 400 students, faculty, and leaders came together to learn, connect, and have conversations about AI and the future of our workforce.

One thing I truly believe is that we have an opportunity to do more than teach people how to use AI. We can help prepare them to lead what comes next.

Investing in people. Powering what’s next.

Appreciate everyone at Howard, AWS, and MLU who continues to pour into this work.

From AI to AI. 🏀🤖

Had an incredible opportunity to join a panel at the @national_basket_association Black Leadership Forum to talk about the past, present, and uture of artificial intelligence.

And yes, the Allen Iverson shirt was intentional. lol Shout out to @tony_cncp for making the shirt.

The first time I saw “AI” was Allen Iverson playing at Georgetown. Today, I’m pursuing my master’s in Artificial Intelligence at Georgetown and somehow found myself on an NBA stage talking about a very different AI.

Full circle.

My simple view of AI’s evolution:

Rules → Prediction → Generation → Agency

And where we’re headed is even more exciting. I believe the future is human + AI, using technology to amplify human creativity, judgment, and potential.

13 years ago, I accepted a job.

I never imagined it would become a calling.

Today marks 13 years at @amazon , and I’m incredibly grateful for the journey.

Over my tenure at @amazonwebservices , I’ve had the privilege of helping customers navigate one of the biggest technology transformations of our time through cloud computing, partnering with organizations as they embrace AI, and now preparing for the opportunities quantum computing will bring. More importantly, I’ve had the honor of building and leading incredible teams that make those transformations possible.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned isn’t about technology.

People transform organizations.

One leadership principle that has shaped me is Are Right, A Lot. Early in my career, I thought it meant having all the answers. Today, I know it means staying curious, listening with humility, seeking diverse perspectives, and never being afraid to learn.

I’m grateful to every leader, mentor, teammate, customer, friend, and family member who has been part of this journey. Most importantly, I thank God for His faithfulness every step of the way.

Here’s to the next chapter.

Work hard. Have fun. Make history.
