Calgary is building momentum in Canada's defence and aerospace industries! I recently joined SAIT to unveil plans for the Bissett Autonomous Aviation Park, advancing autonomous aircraft technology. Made possible by a $30 million gift from philanthropist David Bissett. Thank you! by @jeromyyyc

I had the honour of introducing Prime Minister Carney at last night’s Forever Canadian rally in Calgary. But my heart was with the victims of the tragic bus crash in northeast Calgary, their loved ones, and the first responders. Our entire city stands with you in grief. by @jeromyyyc

I'm heartbroken by the tragic collision involving two Calgary Transit buses near Saddletowne Station. Three people have died and ten are injured, including a Calgary Police Service member who attended on scene. My deepest condolences to the families grieving. Please join us this Sat, Oct 17th at 2pm for the opening ceremonies of Veterans Walkway, an enduring tribute to those who served.

The Walkway is an interactive experience along the north-side pedestrian pathway beside the Bow River, from the George C. King Bridge to the 14th Street Bridge. At each of 31 bronze commemorative medallions, visitors can use a unique QR code to access stories of veterans, places, and events that explore Calgary’s military heritage and history.

Alberta separation would put our jobs, investment, and economic future at risk. Calgary has the highest employment rate of any major Canadian city, and unemployment is down to 6.3%. Even with tariffs and trade uncertainty, we're holding our own. We need more jobs & investment, not separation chaos. by @jeromyyyc

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to rezone for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing. by @jeromyyyc

The first week of every month, join Mayor Jeromy Farkas and me for The Tartan Tie - a new Calgary podcast.

🎧 Full episode link in my bio - or wherever you get your podcasts. It’s QR Mornings.

Why The Tartan Tie? You’ll often see Mayor Jeromy wearing his Calgary tartan tie. The colours illustrate different pillars of this city, from the Bow and Elbow rivers to oil and gas to our welcoming do-it-with-a-smile attitude.

These conversations will also be about everything that makes us, well ... us. In this first episode, we discuss:

• The October 19 Alberta referendum, including Question #10: Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada? 🗳️

• The Big Blue Ring (a.k.a. The Travelling Light) - Does Mayor Jeromy like it? 🔵

• How is he feeling heading into budget season to set municipal property tax rates in Calgary? 💰

• City councillor Andre Chabot says his fellow councillors need to get their tushes physically into City Hall chambers for council meetings – and he’s willing to escalate to the province. 💻

• Plus, what did Mayor Jeromy refuse to share on this episode? On one question, he says it was a private conversation ... and he’ll keep the full interaction to himself. 🤫

AND - Thanksgiving at the Farkas home! 🍗🦃🍗🦃🍗🦃🍗🦃

With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions. by @jeromyyyc

Threatening to murder Muslim children. Telling Muslim families to leave Canada. This is absolutely sickening.

My heart is with the students, families and staff at MAC Islamic School. I'm grateful to the faith leaders standing shoulder to shoulder with Calgary's Muslim community today.

An attack on one faith community is an attack on all of us. Every child deserves to feel safe at school. Every family deserves to feel safe practising their faith.

There is no place for Islamophobia, threats or intimidation in our city. Calgary must stand united against hatred, and those responsible must be held accountable. by @jeromyyyc
