Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get an in-depth introduction from Horticulturist Lisa Roper @ephedera on the evolution of Chanticleer since its opening as a public garden in 1993. Lisa is one of the pioneer gardeners here, who has been overseeing the Gravel Garden for close to a decade. I dug through the photo archive to show you the development of planting palettes at the Gravel Garden through the many seasons over 20+ years. Swipe left to the end to see this exact space in 1999!

preserving this therapeutic May evening on the grid before life moves too fast 💜💛
So happy with my fall-sown Hesperis and self-seeded Isatis. The fragrance of the Hesperis is incredible too!

A collection of bouquets I made in 2025 🌸

Most of these flowers were grown in tiny plots that I cared for outside of my full-time job.

Growing, harvesting and arranging flowers became a small milestone for my first year as a nano part-time flower farmer.

We just moved to a new home with half an acre of land, so hopefully there will be many more flowers in 2026.

Adding this to the #ayearinflowers archive inspired by @floretflower 🌸

~A whole flower season in two minutes~
Last year I started taking flower growing a little more seriously. On a small rented plot, I experimented with producing flowers as a tiny part-time grower.
