Beautiful moments, beautifully captured.
Because family portraits aren’t just pictures, they’re memories you’ll look back on for years to come.

1. Photography is more than taking pictures.
Your camera is only one part of the business. Communication, client experience, contracts, marketing, pricing and professionalism matter just as much as the images you create.

2. Don’t price only for the hours you’re shooting.
A 4-hour shoot might actually involve hours of preparation, travelling, setting up, culling, editing, exporting, backing up files and communicating with the client.

You’re not just charging for the time the camera is in your hand.

3. Every job is an opportunity to improve.
Not every shoot will go perfectly. Difficult lighting, unexpected situations, challenging locations and even difficult client experiences can teach you something.

Take the lesson. Improve your process. Keep moving.

I’m still learning, still improving and still building.

And if you’re thinking about starting photography or turning it into a business, I hope you remember this:

4. You don't have to know everything before you start. You just have to be willing to learn as you go.
