Since there’s been some growth since I last did this- I thought I’d introduce myself again!

My name is Jess! I’m 33 years old & reading is my favorite thing to do! šŸ“–

Some of my favorite books are listed here though not really in order (that changes day by day). I love early 2000s movies & a wide variety of shows! My music taste varies but my hobbies almost always come back to books .

I’m always looking for new book besties so if we have anything in common come say hi! šŸ©·šŸ“–

Quarter Wrap Up is here! We are 3/4 through 2026 and that’s a wild thought.

This quarter was pretty successful- especially with ARCs! Though my approved and pending list I feel is never ending lol

What books are you excited about as we enter the last three months of 2026?

#thirdquarter #quarterwrapup #wrapup #bookwrapup #arcs

I read 29 books in 3 months: 20 were new to me while 9 were rereads!

That’s 10,256 pages.

Only 3 physical books this time around with the other 26 on my kindle!

My favorite reads for each month were:
July- Daybreak by Autumn Woods
August- White Hot by Ilona Andrews
September- The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig

I read 10 ARCs! That’s almost a third of my total books read being ARCs! The standouts were
Drown the Bones by Alexandra Kennington (releases Nov 3, 2026)
The Words that Weave the Dark by Tessonja Odette (releases Feb 16, 2027)
Saved by the Spell by Tanya Huff (releases Nov 3, 2026)

So many books hit my TBR these past few months but these 10 I’m really excited about!

Fairyloot had some gorgeous editions this quarter, especially (Mostly) Human Resources by Grace Viall. It was my favorite edition this character!

Since we are close to the end of 2026 I’m trying to predict my end stats!

How many books do you think you’ll read in 2026? by @jeskasaurusreads

When I saw @paging.vanth (and a few others) do this trend I knew I wanted to try it…I just didn’t realize how hard it is connecting 6 books without just saying ā€œfantasy fantasy fantasyā€ šŸ˜‚

Do you think you can connect 6 books?

I am so sad our time in Sweetwater Peaks is done. I love this town and these characters so much.

Clarke was so relatable. I’ve so many times buried and ignored things that I shouldn’t have, and her need to plan to feel in control is something I think we have all done before.

Leith was so down bad for Clarke. And I do love that they both had crushes on each other as teens but due to their different personalities assumed the other didn’t.

I also loved Lainey. She was so fun and I wish we had more of her!

I’m such a sucker for fake dating and I love that Lyla doesn’t throw in the miscommunication tropes. Our couples talk and listen and we love that for them!

The ending was so good and I always love when Lyla has Meadowlark characters come help in Sweetwater. I kind of hope she never leaves Wyoming and we get another amazing small town series where we run the chance of seeing Clarke, Collins, Brady and Leith again.

Such a great end to the duology, even if I wish it wasn’t the end.

This was such a beautiful story.

It’s a love story that lives through legends. It’s a love story of not only Robin Hood and his Maid Marian, but a love story to finding yourself. A love story to learning to unbend your head when faced with injustice. A love story to the rage inside of all of us.

Erynne Rivers not only delivered a wonderful retelling of the classic Robin Hood, but a story I think we all need to hear in this age of uncertainty and injustice.

When you write a man who loves a woman the way Lox loves Marian, it fills you with a special kind of yearning.

I loved her take on fae and their connection with nature. It was more than just ā€œhot immortal with wingsā€ (which don’t get me wrong. I loooove that kind of fae). I loved how she represented Sherwood Forest.

And the Merry Men? I loved Allen, Little John, and Will so much. Their personalities were diverse and I enjoyed their interactions.

If you love Robin Hood, fae, sexy men with antlers, and a woman’s rage then I highly recommend you to pick up!

Thank you Avon|Harper360 for this early copy of Wench by Erynne Rivers. Wench is out now everywhere!

First vs Favorite: Author Edition

It’s been a long time since I’ve done this trend and my answers have definitely changed since last time so I thought it’d be fun to do again.

What’s an author you’ve read a lot of that you found your favorite of them later?

#firstvsfavorite #authors #ilonandrews #bkborison #alihazelwood

Ilona Andrews: I started with their Kate Daniels series but only recently did KD get dethroned by This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me

BK Borison: I genuinely didn’t think anything would top First-Time Caller but then came Grim Tidings…

Sarah Beth Durst: she is an author I have been reading for ages and the favorite slot bounced around a lot until The Spellshop.

Rachel Gillig: While her catalog isn’t as large as some, they have all been amazing. And so while The Knight and the Moth has become my favorite, One Dark Window isn’t far behind.

Ali Hazelwood: my queen. I will read anything she writes, she is one of the two authors who got me back into reading a couple years ago and it’s been banger after banger since then. But Deep End became a true obsession.

Emily Henry: Beach Read remained my first and favorite for ages. I didn’t think it would be dethroned but Funny Story has all my fav tropes and the story just sucked me in.

Sarah J Maas: it was actually House of Earth and Blood that made me interested in SJM, but my bestie @merkletta said I had to start with ACOTAR. And while she was completely correct, HoEaB did end up my favorite of all of SJM work.

Tessonja Odette: her earlier series are so fun and I enjoyed the whimsy and romance but the level she wrote The Lies that Summon the Night is insane. It’s still so romantic but dark and moody in the best ways. by @jeskasaurusreads

Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe was a perfect palette cleanser between fantasy reads! I loved all the various cryptids mentioned. And Mallory did my favorite thing, our couple communicated!! Praise be lol.

Get you a man that looks at you the way Hayden looks at Hallie (or cryptids lol).

Cursed City by Kate Golden was such a good follow up book to Half City.

I loved all our characters, especially the deviants we got to know this book. I especially loved having our ā€œgoonie gangā€ back. And the plot? During the last half of the book it POPPED OFF! So much went down and I’m still reeling from that final chapter.

I’m so grateful for all the questions we got answered BUT WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH THAT ENDING KATE!? I can’t believe we have to now wait who knows how long for the final book 🫠

This series is such a great addition to the genre urban fantasy. But especially if you loved Mortal Instruments as a teen (or currently) you definitely need to pick this series up! It’s utterly delicious.

Happy pub day Amanda!!

Thank you Avon for this early copy of Once, Again, Always by Amanda Gayle. Out TODAY!

That was such an amazing love story. Amanda Gayle has such a beautiful way with words, I highlighted so many moments!

Watching Molly and Aster deal with the trials of Molly’s lost memories and finding each other again was so well done. This was definitely a character driven story, which makes sense. And it suited Amanda’s writing style so well. I know I keep saying it but gosh she truly writes love in such a beautiful, raw way.

Their friend group was so fun and such a riot of personalities. There truly isn’t a boring moment when hanging out with them.

I also love that she didn’t have Molly’s memories come back. I love Molly choosing Aster again and letting go of her unknown memories and proving how much they love each other. As she said, she’d rather have him than her memories.

If you want a sweet love story of falling in love again, I definitely suggest picking this title up!
