One of my content creator clients just invited me to be a guest speaker for her cohort to talk about hiring and systems and this made me smile a little extra 🥹

The supportive man behind the woman building her dreams 🤍

Part fiancé, part driver, part executive chef, part sounding board, part “love, you should do this with the business” coach 😂

Most people see the business.

I usually notice everything happening behind it.

Who owns what?
Why are we still doing this manually?
And why is this task somehow still living inside the founder’s head?

That’s the part of business I naturally find myself paying attention to the people, processes, systems, delegation, and all the little things that keep everything moving.

My client basically told me today:

“DO NOT JESS THIS INTO A BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE OPS SYSTEM BEFORE FRIDAY.” 😭

Because my response to “we need to know who’s actually performing” was:

“Okay, 5-star grading system, self-assessment, manager assessment, performance statuses, automations, escalation framework—”

Meanwhile: Jess, just find out who’s working first. 😂

The ops person’s eternal struggle: fix the leak first. Build the beautiful system second.
