Happy Medal Monday🏅! Here’s a few photos of our weekend in Austin. I completed the Statesman CAP10K! Although I was .07 seconds shy of a PR, I never felt stronger especially with the elevation. I am grateful for my daughter and I promised her no more races for a while that require travel lol. Super huge shoutout to my bestie and Leilani’s Godmother @lonestar_lex for driving 1.5 hrs to come support me and cheer me on during that last stretch! 🥹 Lastly, cheers to my BGM and Marmy sis who ran this race as well and left me in her dust LOL @rasheedahamsler 🥳 by @jess_snapback

Shamrock Weekend Part 3 🍀 The day of the Half Marathon has arrived and I was nervous AF. The longest run I had during my training was 10 miles, s/o to @runna But I showed up, I committed so the hardest part was ✔️ done. Naturally, my lady days started 3 days before the race…Flo is a b*t h. My bladder and stomach were victims of my nerves so there were plenty of potty breaks 😞 At one point, I was going to run into bushes lmaooo BUT as my friends reminded me, I FINISHED! Seeing my daughter waiting for me at Mile 12…man!!!!! I ugly cried! This experience taught me so much about myself and other people. The first thing I learned is I can do anything I put my mind to and with Christ who strengthens me. I listened to praise music the entire climb up hill, sure my jog was slow but one foot kept going in front of the other! Secondly, I learned I am not a quitter. I saw plenty of people who gave up along that course (aside from medical reasons). Third, sometimes support comes from a complete stranger. When you run a race, random folks just encourage one another. It’s a beautiful fellowship. Lastly, you can train for something and plan to a tee but things happen the way that they do. I’m glad this run was not a blur. I have a memory for every mile and I am so blessed to be able to do this! To move my body is a blessing and f*ck a time…I’m running laps around folks on couches! It’s up from here and that’s on PERIOD! S/O to my heartbeats @dr.melimel and @drtamarawdias - yall keep me from spiraling daily! Baby’s 1st 10K! I couldn’t have done it without @officialmarcelfit in my ear each step of the way especially with each hill! (except the last stretch…I put on Meek! IYKYK) Thank you to my girls @dr.melimel and @drtamarawdias for their support. I love y’all! Next year I’m doing the 15K, God willing. It’s the post run treats for me.
