sax cover of 'Perfect' by Faith Corrica. This song is certainly powerful. As you reflect on the things that happened this week, spend some time with God and ask Him to use you for his will and His Glory, and don't be ashamed to call on His Name. Be blessed.🤲
If there's a song you'd like to hear me play, feel free to leave a comment. Thanks. 😊 by @jesse.d.schultz

1️⃣ You only Play for Grades, not Joy

Take 15 minutes a day to play something you love- a song that reminds you why you started.

2️⃣ You Compare Your Growth to Others

Track your own Progress. Record yourself monthly and celebrate small wins- one clean run, one high note, one breakthrough.

3️⃣ You Never Play without Pressure

Set aside “no-judgment” practice sessions. Just explore sounds, try new licks, mess up freely- no expectations.

4️⃣ You’ve Disconnected from your ‘Why’

Write down why you started music in the first place. Keep it somewhere visible. Let your purpose fuel your practice.

 5️⃣ Your Routine Feels Robotic.

Switch things up- change your practice location, learn a new genre, jam with friends, or learn by ear instead of sheet music for a day.

1️⃣ Designed a Business Card
I created a clean, professional card with my name, contact info, and social handles - something people could actually keep and remember me by.

2️⃣ Sent Cold Messages to Venues & Businesses
No waiting around. I reached out directly to restaurants, cafes, and event organizers with short, confident pitches and a sample of my work.

 3️⃣Started Busking at a Mall
I made myself visible. Playing live at the mall gave me an audience, built confidence, and even led to paid opportunities from people passing by.

 4️⃣ Posted Covers Consistently
I kept sharing my sound. Whether it was a 30-second clip or a full video, I made sure people could hear me online - and it helped me stay relevant.

5️⃣ Treated Every Small Gig Like a Big One A
From birthday events to wedding events - I gave it 100%. Every performance was a stepping stone and a networking opportunity.

1️⃣ Focus on Expression, Not Perfection

Shift your mindset from “I must impress” to “I want to express.” When the goal becomes sharing your story or emotion rather than performing flawlessly, judgment loses its power.

2️⃣ Perform Frequently in Safe Spaces

Start small - jam with friends, play at open mics or in malls, and post short clips online. Regular exposure helps desensitize the fear, and supportive feedback builds confidence.

3️⃣ Reframe Criticism as Growth

Instead of seeing judgment as an attack, view it as insight. Ask: “What can I learn from this?” Growth-minded musicians thrive because they treat feedback as fuel, not failure.

4️⃣ Develop a Strong Artistic Identity

The clearer you are on who you are as a musician, the less you’ll be shaken by opinions. When you own your style, your message, and your sound, external judgment holds less weight. #saxophonist #pmauriat #guyanesesaxophonist #panjam taken in Georgetown, Guyana by @jesse.d.schultz

Panjam: In De Village 2025 was a whole vibe! 🌴🎷

Honored to bring the serenade segment to life with smooth sax sounds inside the village. The energy, the culture, the love—unmatched.
