And that’s a wrap on the first annual @lilrhodylaughriot fest!

Some of the biggest names in comedy came to the smallest state to put on 30+ shows all over the beautiful city of Providence.

I had the pleasure of being the lead staff photographer and it was nearly impossible to narrow down my favorite 20 shots.

A massive thank you to all the comics, the incredible staff at @provpacri, @thevetsri & the @comedyconnection, talent booker Amanda Bonafine, GM of The Vets Dan Schwartz, & publicity by Michael Gravison, and @ashliethatcher for keeping us all in line.

10 years ago today, I asked Nora out on a date. ❤️

It’s nearly impossible to sum up an entire decade of life with you. Countless globe trotting adventures across 17 countries, hand building our 160 sq. foot tiny house for HGTV that we’ve been living in together for 7 years, & both of us finally feeling like we’re finding our footing in our professional creative careers.
.
I can’t wait to marry you next year at the beautiful Rose Island lighthouse. I’m excited to see all of the places we’ll go together. More than anything…I’m so lucky to be able to share this life with you. And Lily. I love you, Nora. Forever. Yes! ❤️ by @jessedufault

Allow me to reintroduce myself:

I never post pictures of myself here. You can almost always find me behind the lens. For those who don’t know me, my name is Jesse. I’ve been a professional freelance photographer & cinematographer working in the field for the past 5 years. I’ve been lucky enough to shoot for the @USGA at 4 of the past US Opens, jump behind some cinema cameras as a camera Op for some feature length films, and have had a lot of success in the wedding industry.

2021 will be the last year that I film or photograph weddings, as I shift to more personal passion projects in the film & photo world. And I also plan to retire in 10 years at age 42. Let me explain…
.
What you see behind me is my 160 sq. foot tiny house. My partner @noraeschen and I hand built this over the course of 9 months (featured on HGTV - Tiny Traveling Theatre) while living in my Dad’s house for a grand total of $20,000. Our average monthly rent payment is only $300 USD. We live well below our means, are completely debt free, and this allows us to save nearly 75% of our income each year. We both drive silly convertibles from the early 2000’s that collectively cost us $4,550 and safely get us from point A to point B. Imagine taking 75% of your take home pay, putting it into safe/long term investments, and watching that money grow and compound overtime to where you are financially free. But not at age 65 or 68…but 10 years from now.

Now what’s the plan when I hit 42 and I have enough money to live off of for the rest of my life? Will I buy a lambo and an expensive house? Absolutely not. That’s when I’ll start to work. Work is a hell of a lot better when you don’t need the money, and after living this way for 3 years and still traveling to over 15 different countries there’s a wonderful mindset shift. Because everything becomes possible.

Over the next year or so I’ll most likely start developing a YouTube channel or Patreon account that really gets into the details of my process…but for now, I’ll steal one of my favorite Allan Wats quotes/questions....

Yesterday was such a special day! Anthony Feola Designs had the privilege of being part of Nora & Jesse’s wedding on the stunning Rose Island. From the breathtaking ocean views to the thoughtful details woven throughout the celebration, the entire day felt magical. It was such an honor to bring their vision to life and add those design touches that made the day uniquely theirs.

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to photograph @nikkiglaser’s SOLD OUT show at the legendary @beacontheatre in NYC with special guest openers, The Natural Lines.
.
Last year, I was a bit worried about moving away from the comfort, income, & safety of wedding photography/filmmaking, but I was determined to push myself to find new & exciting opportunities in the film world & find my niche.
.
I still have a long, long way to go, and a ton of other bucket list gigs I’d like to check off in the future…but I hope I get to a point in my career where everything feels like this weekend did. An absolute dream. 🙌🏼

Also, supersonic shoutout to @mattpondpa of @thenaturallines who has helped me so much in my career & getting me to this point. You’re a proper rockstar & I’m truly lucky to know you and call you my friend.
