Sunrise at the summit of Mt. Agung 3,142m / 10,308ft. Bali’s highest and holiest mountain.

On my last two visits to Bali, Mt. Agung was out of bounds due to volcanic activity. When I heard it was open to climbers again, it was on my list!

I chose to start at Pura Besakih, which is the longer route, but takes you to the true summit. It was the hardest climb of my life but it was worth it - the views of the sunrise over Bali and Lombok were spectacular and the colours unreal!

I knew this would be a tough climb and not to underestimate it and I was told it’s tougher than Everest basecamp. The altitude made breathing very difficult during the last hour of the climb, but I slowly made it to the summit with help and experience from my friend @gedemundut thank you, brother 🙏🏻

As requested… more details about the 1920s Speakeasy / Peaky Blinders themed Airbnb apartment in Bergerac.

I booked the apartment last minute without fully reading the Airbnb listing or reviews. The great location and price sealed the deal for a three-night stay.

When I started receiving Peaky Blinders themed messages from the host, including “Your journey to Small Heath is about to begin…”, I panicked and thought I’d booked accommodation in Birmingham by mistake! 😂

After entering the apartment, I found a locked wooden chest on the Garrison bar with a message stating that, to claim my welcome gift, I had to solve the combination. After scouring the bar area for clues, I finally cracked the code and opened the chest to claim my boozy gift! An unexpected but very fun start to my stay 🍾

The location of the apartment is perfect for exploring Bergerac on foot. Situated on a quiet street in the medieval old town, you’ll find cafés, restaurants, bars, museums, and the Dordogne River just minutes away.

One of my favourite @airbnb stays for sure!

After a tedious 4 hour delay at Enfidha airport, I viewed the sunrise as we flew over France.

I checked the map to make sense of the location. The groups of lights are small villages to the east of Charles de Gaulle airport.
