⚡️Early bird got the worm this weekend on Slow Dance in the Happies. Horrible video, changed beta mid attempt- but still meaningful as this past year has been one of the gnarliest when it comes to injuries- climbing something this hard was a total surprise and a glimmer of hope that I can make a meaningful comeback. ⚡️“Laura” (V10??) FA at the tunnels. Happy mother’s day Ma <3. Been working on this since november, with a goal of starting lower- Even from this stand position it took me probably 40-50 tries, sticking the first move 5 times in total, and blowing it between the foot move and the second move 4 of those 5 times. There were days when I couldn’t do a single move, but I narrowly escaped with a send this morning! There’s a harder exit to take, and start moves trending lower into the v12-13 world, and you can link a full established v9 into that so… Something for future as this move encourages many possibilities. Anyways, a work in progress. Requiring a shallow toe hook and a pretend right hand start hold, crank a brutal lever and drive-by from a decent pinch to gain the first edge, spin onto it if you’re lucky and snipe a blocked smear foot before snatching another small blind edge. On the grade, comparing to AOTA and terminator sit pre break- I got those both second go, and this was a significant time and attempt investment by comparison. The first move is so bizarre, I really had to get lucky. 🎲 Time will tell! by @jessewphoto

⚡️Spirit Animal SDS V8/9. Visited a rarely climbed boulder in topanga canyon over the weekend and managed to add a sit start to this Epic V8 put up by Matt Dooley @scientiacollective. Not sure if it’s worth a whole point to add those 2/3 intro moves or not. Props on the vision Matt, and thanks for the spot and support @sabrinaahetzel ! by @jessewphoto

Pope’s Hat (V10) 🔥 Had an amazing 5 day trip to the Milks last week. I’d only ever managed one V10 in that area before, so it felt amazing take take home three more this time around. This one was my fav and it got the day started out right. After a quick warmup on Iron Man I booted up and took this down first try. A few minutes later I was topping out my other project, first go as well. Two projects in two tries on my final day was a crazy experience. Riding this psyche as long as I can. 🔥 Huge thanks to the many people who supported me on this trip, I had a great time. by @jessewphoto

⚡️It felt good to wield ye’ old camera yesterday for @elevation_climbing at one of the happiest places on earth @flowstone_climbing with two legendary setters @fatblocs and @sarah_filler. Life has been dragging on through this mess and I’ve been weathering it... I think many of us miss our climbing gyms and jobs and the communities we took for granted. I’m hopeful for the future, and I can’t wait to put some boulders of my own on the wall and feel strong enough to WANT to go on a climbing trip. I bet I’m not alone in that. 🔥 Our @long_beach_rising comp/camp was a great time to set and even more fun to watch. We had a host of insane setters and forerunners and gave it lots of heart! ⚡️ Today I’m taking over as Head Setter at @boulderdashclimbing after nearly 8 years there. I’m thankful for the opportunity and stoked. There is much to do and many people to please, but I feel ready for the challenge. I’ve learned so much from so many people that ultimately helped me get better as a setter and a coach. I want to thank and acknowledge the awesome people that gave me a chance and who I’ve woked with over the years. ⚡️I had a great time setting for our local @boulderdashclimbing this past week. The setting crew led by @ramirezz_christopherr was on point, and I’m super stoked on what we put up. Here are some of the problems I set and some rare ascents on them. Climbed by @jimmyrayy @ross.fulkerson @thea_climbs and me... cause black didn’t get any tops in the comp 😭.
