We forget.
God knows we forget.
That’s why, throughout Scripture, He continually tells His people to remember.

What if your family had a simple way to remember, too?

Faith Blooms was created to help families notice, remember, and celebrate God’s faithfulness - one blessing at a time.

As a new school year begins, there’s no better time to start the habit of looking for His blessings in both the big moments and the ordinary ones. Before you know it, you’ll have a box full of reminders of all He’s done!

If you’d like to start this tradition in your own home, I’d love to send you a Blessing Box Kit.
You can order yours at the link in my bio.

Today at church the message was “The Lord is Faithful.”
I couldn’t help but smile because it felt like God reached down and gave me a giant hug. 🤍

That’s exactly the heart behind what I’ve been building these past months - creating a simple, beautiful way for families to remember His faithfulness and pass that legacy on.

✨ The Blessing Box Kit by Faith Blooms officially launched today! ✨

It’s a tradition our family started - writing down blessings, big and small, and gathering to remember the stories that of how God showed up. Now, it’s something I get to share with others. My prayer is that these kits bless families with gratitude, perspective, and hope… and most of all, with a deeper reminder of God’s goodness.

If you’ve cheered me on, prayed for me, or encouraged me along the way - thank you. I couldn’t have done this without you.
I’ve seen it played out over and over in my life.
The Lord is Faithful!!!

You can see more and order at www.howfaithblooms.com.
First boxes are already on their way out the door!

LCA Homecoming Week is always so much fun! Five years ago this week, we moved to Texas (for the first time 😆😉) and got our introduction to homecoming, Texas style!

This year was extra special with the twins in the marching band and JJ in the Flight Crew program, cheering on his buddy Josh, a starting offensive lineman, each week.

It’s been a busy, fun fall with so much to cheer for! 💛🦅💚 Go Eagles!! by @jessfischer

I was doing my Joshua study this morning and loved this reminder from Jen Wilkin:

“We have to be so careful that we are not so eager to see the miraculous moment that we forget God’s faithfulness in steady, daily provision in mundane ways.”

Of course we remember the big things - the answered prayers and the moments when God shows up in ways we can’t miss.

But most of life is lived in the ordinary.

A pile of laundry because we have clothes to wear.
Food in the refrigerator.
A car to get us where we need to go.
Hot water for a shower.
A bed to crawl into at the end of the day.
Another ordinary day with the people we love.

These things may not feel miraculous. But they are still evidence of God’s steady, daily provision.

When we write these things down, we start to see just how faithful God has been all along.

Not just in the miracles. In the mundane, too.

What’s one ordinary blessing you don’t want to forget today? by @jessfischer

Happy National Sons Day to my three favorite boys. 💙

I’m so incredibly proud of these three and the young men they’re becoming. Being their mom is one of the greatest gifts of my life.

They teach me so much more than they’ll ever realize. Being a parent might be some of the most sanctifying work God gives us. He has used these boys to stretch me, humble me, grow me, and teach me more about His love and grace than I ever could have imagined.

I love watching them become who God created them to be - even though I’d happily slow time down just a little. Two of them are very close to being taller than me!!

No matter how big they get, they’ll always be my boys and three of my very favorite people in the whole world. 💙

Driving to meet John for lunch yesterday, I rounded a corner and suddenly there they were.

Hay bales. So many of them. Probably 50 scattered across a field in the middle of the Dallas metroplex. 😆🤯

And I smiled.

I have no idea why, but I have ALWAYS loved hay bales. I loved seeing them as a kid, then loved seeing them when John would take me to South Dakota to visit, and of course when we lived in South Dakota we saw them all the time.
I would always make John pull off to the side of the road so I could take pictures! Which is a lot easier to do on back roads in South Dakota but I was able to snap this picture today from my car as I was driving by. 🤫

And today I started thinking about why I love these little circles so much.

Maybe it’s because there’s something really beautiful about them. Something grew, was harvested, and now it’s going to be used to feed and provide for something else.

What grew in one season becomes provision for the next.

I don’t know. Maybe I’m reading way too much into a bunch of hay bales. 😂

But it felt like a little gift from God.

Nothing big. Nothing life-changing. Just something He knew would make me smile. And I added it to our blessing box today.

Sometimes I think we’re looking so hard for God to show up in the big things that we miss all the tiny ways He reminds us, I know you. I know what you love.

Today, for me, it was a field full of hay bales in the middle of the city. 🤍

Swipe to see some of my fav hay bale pics from over the years.

I was driving home and got stuck in traffic and God used something completely ordinary to get my attention.

I was sitting in a right-turn lane, waiting to turn into a parking lot. There was an accident in front of me so traffic was very backed up, and from where I was sitting, it probably looked like I just wasn’t going.

A few cars behind me, someone apparently decided they’d waited long enough.

So they pulled out of line, drove up onto the sidewalk and grass, passed everyone, and came all the way up beside me.

Except there was a problem.

There was a truck pulling a long trailer in the parking lot, completely blocking the entrance.

They couldn’t turn either.

So now there we both sat. Me in the turn lane. Them beside me…on the grass. 😆

And I immediately thought:

How often do I do this with God?

I’m waiting. Nothing seems to be moving. I can’t understand why the way forward isn’t opening up.

And instead of trusting that maybe God can see something I can’t, I start looking for a way around.

I try to fix it.
Force it.
Speed it up.
Make my own way forward.

Because from where I’m sitting, it just looks like God isn’t moving.

But He can see the road ahead.

He sees the obstacle I don’t even know is there.

Maybe sometimes what feels like God making us wait isn’t Him withholding something from us at all.

Maybe He’s protecting us. Preparing something. Redirecting us. Or simply asking us to trust Him when we can only see what’s right in front of us, but He can see the whole picture.

Today I needed that reminder:

I don’t have to drive through the grass trying to get ahead of God.

I can trust the One who already knows what’s ahead.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

I didn’t expect to be bawling in the car on the way home from school drop off this morning, listening to the names of those lost on September 11th being read aloud on the radio.

Twenty-five years later, and I can still remember exactly where I was.

I was in college, sitting in an early morning engineering lab, when someone (who must have had a web browser open, because cell phones weren’t what they are today) said a plane had flown into a building in New York.

At the time, none of us understood what we were watching unfold. We couldn’t have imagined how many lives would be lost, how many families would be forever changed, or how that day would change everything.

Maybe that’s why remembering matters so much.

We say “never forget,” but there’s something deeply human about actually stopping to remember. To hear the names. To remember that behind every number was a person, a family, a story - so many read today with the same last name. To remember the courage and sacrifice. And to remember how, in the days that followed, people prayed, loved their neighbors, and showed up for one another. It really did feel like time stood still.

The radio also mentioned that a third of Americans weren’t even born yet. Another reason why remembering matters.

I’d be honored if you’d share your memories with me.
Where were you when you first heard? What do you remember most?

This verse is SO hard for me.
Especially in this busy back to school/fall season.

To quiet the noise and stop thinking about the next thing that needs to be done. To put down my phone, ignore the list in my head, and just… be still.

And I’ve been convicted lately with thinking how often am I asking God to speak while giving Him absolutely no quiet in which to hear Him?

I want to hear the Holy Spirit. I want to recognize His still, small voice. But am I actually creating space to listen?

So I’m trying to be more intentional with my time, especially in the mornings. Getting up before the busy begins. Opening my Bible. Sitting with the Lord. Praying, but also being quiet. Listening. Not rushing on to the next thing.

I’m not very good at it yet.🤪 My brain would very much like to use that quiet time to make a grocery list or think through the day.

So I’m curious… is this hard for you too? Do you intentionally make space to just be quiet with the Lord, not asking, not reading your Bible, not doing, but simply listening?

And if you so, what does that look like for you?

I’d really love to hear! 💕 by @jessfischer

Back to School!!
3rd, 8th & 8th.

Kind of a full-circle year for us - Jackson and Jamie were in 3rd grade when we first moved to Texas, and now they’re starting 8th while JJ starts 3rd.
Somehow all three of my little boys are quickly turning into young men and I’m so incredibly proud of them!
Praying that this year they’ll grow in their faith, point others to Jesus, and continue to be joy bringers in all they do!

This school year is a fun one for me too! I’m the 3rd grade coordinator, AND Faith Blooms Blessing Boxes are officially in the Lower School classrooms this year. 💚 I can’t wait to see what God does with them!!! 🙌🏻

And now… I have a QUIET house for the first time in months.
I’m definitely looking forward to getting back into a routine and having some quiet work time - although it feels a little too quiet without the boys and our sweet dog. 🥺

Here we go, 3rd & 8th grade! 💚💛🦅

And that’s a wrap on summer!!
We had so much fun in Florida visiting my parents in Parish and going to Anna Maria Island. Donuts, fishing, snorkeling, and lots of time at the beach!
John was even able to join us in between trips for a day.
Every year summer gets a little harder to let go of, but we are ready for another school year to start! by @jessfischer
