Come with me to The Mane Event, the annual fundraiser for @centenaryequine at the Equestrian Center!

I had so much fun learning from live demos and panel discussions, and bidding on auction items. It was a great way to meet all of the faculty, students, and horses that make the Centenary program special.

My twins have been on campus for almost a month and are thoroughly enjoying the opportunities available to them. They are excited about class, practicum hours, riding on the NCEA and IHSA teams, and already hope to be FYL (first year leaders) next fall.

I can’t say enough about this community. There is an ETS clinic in December for juniors interested in riding in college. We found them helpful to jumpstart the recruiting process!

Mini #vlog from my weekend at the Fairfield August Horse Show at the Fairfield County Hunt Club, one of the prettiest venues still offering the chance to show on grass!

Our CHJA (CT Hunter Jumper Association) Finals run as a “show within a show” during the FCHC August Horse Show. Luckily the weather was perfection and we had so much fun seeing & cheering on friends before the girls head to college this Friday!

Thrilled to have two articles in the @sidelines_magazine July Junior Issue featuring kind, hard working riders! Both are incredible role models for the next generation 🤍

Emi Richard has carved out a successful niche for herself as a winning catch rider in all three rings. As a young girl, she rode her bicycle around WEF promoting her abilities as a pony rider, gaining invaluable experience from top trainers while her mom managed her own clients.

Emi recently won the 2026 Gladstone Equitation Cup. She remains an inspiration for so many junior riders that hard work pays off! Emi is committed to SMU’s D1 Equestrian Team.

Emma Hakim, who recently accomplished her first Grand Prix, is now back “home” training at the farm where her parents first met, and she and her siblings fell in love with horses. Hear about Emma’s full-circle journey, which ironically started with a game of “falling off” that she still laughs about today!

Emma won the New England Equitation Medal last fall. She is a kind, positive influence in the sport and doesn’t take herself too seriously—something I admire! Emma is committed to Georgia’s D1 Equestrian Team.

NEW ⛰️💚 #horseshow #vlog review @hits_vermont

Things to Know …
• Barns usually stay two weeks at a time or longer, so make sure to book your stalls early.
• Book your golf cart early with Dever online.
• Lots of food trucks on the show grounds.
• Bring your ring gear storms move in and out.
• Check the prize list for special classes, including the jumper relay and HITS equitation challenge.
• Downtown Manchester is about 10 minutes away and a great destination for dinner and shopping.
• Tons of great ways to enjoy the outdoors like swimming at the quarry or various freshwater holes.
• The show grounds run along railroad tracks and a train does come by once a day around lunch. Some horses understandably are spooked, but the train is aware of the show and goes slowly without blowing any horns. Many horses actually don’t care, especially after they have seen it once.
• Jod’s and FarmVet are at the show for all of your shopping needs, in addition to rotating vendors.
• Jess Windhurst is the official photographer at HITS Vermont and does an excellent job of capturing all the rings, along with wonderful candids. They also offer private photography packages as well as high-quality video.
• ShowMD’s Christina Hutchinson is also generally on site—a huge bonus!
