We did it. Private view over and out 😱 thank you so much for coming, everyone. I’m honestly in disbelief like, how did I get so lucky to be surrounded by so many absolutely bloody lovely, gorgeous humans?!

Couldn’t have done any of this without Ashkan. My rock, hype man, inspiration, love and agent 😆

I lost count of: how many people I spoke to, how many bunches of flowers and… how many paintings I sold?! I think it was about 8 in the end? 😱

I still can’t quite believe it but it’s official. I’m an artist with a solo exhibition.

Here are some photos of *most* of the paintings in the calm before the beautiful storm > have captioned each of them. If you see anything you like I can sell them remotely just dm me.

We’ll have official photos of the night soon but until then…

Here I am, just casually being an artist.

I’ve got loads to say - I really really want to tell you the story of this whole JoUrnEy. But for now I actually just want to normalise putting some photos on the grid without saying anything of much substance.

Apart from: Come to my private view!

I used to think I had to stick to one style, but there’s no fun in that and also there is no ‘one style’ in my head, so why would I keep them all locked up? by @jesshellens

Second drop of original paintings on paper is LIVE on the website. Two have sold 🤯 two left. Thank you so much to you all for your support, I’m so pleased you like them!

I’m gonna delete socials for a bit to give my brain a chance to get creative again. I’ll be back in 48 hours - you can still contact me via the website if you need anything. Pieces that have sold already will be sent this weekend 🥰

All links in bio as per over and out pals 🫡💕💖

P.S does this song make you think of your mate’s mum/aunty who got married again and this was their first dance at the local golf club? Dress from Debenhams. Yeah, same. by @jesshellens

Meet the next star of our ’10 Question With’ series - abstract artist, Jess Hellens (@jesshellens). Interviewed by the ever fabulous Bonnie! (@wordsbybonnie)

In our latest piece, Jess talks about finding her way back to painting after 20 years, her love of Bristol’s creative community, the inspiration behind her abstract landscapes - and, in true Everyday mag spirit, why it’s never too late to start creating.

Her newest work will be at Square Club in Bristol until October 2026, with another preview of her work on Tuesday 22nd September. Head along kids!

This is No. 5 of the 7 I’m painting to replace the pieces sold on my private view night @thesquareclub 🤪🥳

Please come along to my preview of *new* work on Tuesday 22nd September, 5pm-7pm.

She’s no name or frame yet, but I still think she’s worthy of a space on the grid.

I think I know what I want to call her but what do you reckon?

ALSO! I’ll be exhibiting as part of the @bs5arttrail at our second home @inbristolstudio - there’ll be small paintings on paper to buy and you can see my works in progress in my actual real life studio 🥰 by @jesshellens
