For The Times's 175th, we took our photojournalism on the road with a traveling exhibition on college campuses, at UW–Madison's Library Mall then Michigan State and onwards to other universities. We wanted to bring the work of our photojournalists directly to students, to show what it takes to bear witness to the world, often at real risk, and why that work matters. The exhibition is paired with conversations on the importance of a free press and remarks from our Publisher. The whole show is built to move. The truck serves as a title wall, then opens into a screening room of our Watch Tab footage. The display system is built from shipping pallets, and everything packs back into the truck for the drive to the next campus. A printed piece was also designed to accompany the exhibition. So proud of this one. Original reporting is essential. And it's getting rarer.
 That's the idea behind "Reporters Follow the Facts," our new social campaign for @nytimes 175th anniversary. We didn't want to just look back. We wanted people to stop and notice the work that makes the reporting possible, and to remember why it's worth supporting. This video shows what it actually takes to get the story, and what we all lose when no one is there to do that work.
 Huge thanks to our partners at @studiodumbar, who were ambitious and outstanding collaborators from start to finish. And to everyone behind the scenes at The Times: this doesn't happen without you. Posting this before the year is over (many many months delayed) but this was an especially bright year for State of The Times creative. We partnered with the masterful @daisy_chain_studio yet again on the motion and did much of the identity work in-house with @homeburger. The initial explores were crafted in collab with @funken.studio. The sound design was created with @pat_mccusker and it featured a beautiful color spectrum light expression of the wordmark by @kifferkeegan. There were iridescent posters that changed with the light and reflected rainbows throughout the building. There were meticulously refined type systems. There were feelings to be felt ✨. And even a surprise Lizzo performance. It was ambitious and sparkling and gratifying to see come to life. by @jessibrattengeier

Some more images from the case study for @oriana.nyc. In addition to designing the identity for the main restaurant, we also worked on their Listening Room — a gorgeous space with immaculate vibes, where guests can book private dining and listen to vinyl from their huge collection. The type system was really put to use in the printed collateral for that space. Brand identity and brand system for @oriana.nyc , a new wood-fired restaurant on the corner of Mott and Broome by Eleven Madison alums @chefandyquinn and @cedlovesbacon.  Oriana means sunrise, or dawn, the foundation of the identity. The primary mark is a sun-moon drawn from the language of heraldry, depicting the moment golden light arrives and the moon and sun briefly share the sky. The logotype is a custom adaptation of Ferum by @thispopshitpop and @office.typing — a revival of Walter Tiemann's Mediaeval. A stacked variant was developed for vertical applications, echoing the exterior architecture. The system is deeply informed by the interiors, designed by @christianigolden. The portals in the restaurant's walls, both intimate and open, inspired the ornate frames and thresholds that act as dividers throughout the collateral. A holistic project from the ground up: strategy, identity, signage, menus, music, web. Architecture always considered. It's one we're particularly proud of, and a massive effort by our team.
