Absolutely honoured to have been amongst peers and pals in the process of the @wainwrightprize and thrilled to learn Dispersals has been highly commended. I’ve judged this prize in the past and know how much heart and care goes into the process of picking. Thank you to the judges. And moreover ENORMOUS congratulations to Michael Malay, whose Late Light is absolutely essential reading. Thrilled to see it. 🥰 by @jessicajlee

Finally I can shout about it: Here is my daughter’s first peek at A Garden Called Home, my first children’s book, which is dedicated to her. “Careful, careful,” she says. 😆 And you can take a first look over at @cbcbooks! Illustrator @tiny.clovers saw into my brain/soul when she magicked this mother daughter duo into the world. I can’t wait for you to meet them. 💜 by @jessicajlee

So thrilled to reveal the US/Canada and UK covers for DISPERSALS, a collection of essays on plants, borders, and belonging. Coming 2024 - preorder links on my website. And here are some of the purple plants that made their way into the book. 🌸 🌿🌲🌾🪻🥭🫛🥬 by @jessicajlee

Last weekend we hosted a group of writers for our final event of the year - “Gathering the Season”, a writing retreat led by @jessicajlee.

The weather was on our side, so writing sessions took place outdoors, among the trees and the chickens. We shared fresh meals made straight from the garden, and made space for writing, conversation and connection.

One of the things we love most about hosting events is sharing our space with our others - opening up our home, sharing our harvest, and creating opportunities for people to slow down, come together, and form friendships.

With the colder months ahead, we’re taking a break from events, and we’re not sure yet when we’ll organise the next one. With a small child, hosting is always a bit of a balancing act, and now it’s time to make space for some non-farm projects we’ve been wanting to focus on for a while. Let’s see what next year brings.

Thank you once again to Jessica, our wonderful friend @this.is.josefina for your help and support, and our warm and inspiring guests. It was such a beautiful way to gather the season, and a lovely event to finish the year on. 🩷 by @jessicajlee

The spot, the swim ❄️ by @jessicajlee

2025 was a year I wrote more and swam less, but the swims I did get in were some really special ones. The highlights: today in frozen Schlachtensee, free diving in Western Norway (📸 @tingkerbellyiu), post-festival dip on Porty Beach (📸 @filmbum81), Berlin summer swims, river dip in the Highlands, Nova Scotia sea swim, swimming in the Arctic Ocean in Svalbard, and a waterfall dip in Taiwan (📸 @tinygoldfish). 💖 by @jessicajlee
