šŸ–¤Why I’m So Passionate About Wellness šŸ–¤

Between 16 and 21, I lost my dad and brother to avoidable diseases caused by toxins like cigarettes and drugs. Those losses left a permanent mark and inspired my passion for health and wellness.

Years later, when my husband deployed, I struggled with debilitating panic attacks. After he came home, we were both battling anxious emotions—his from the toll of war and mine from the stress it brought. Around that time, we were also starting a family and they were depending on me, and I knew I wanted to protect their growing bodies from harmful ingredients.

That’s when I discovered essential oils and low tox living with Young Living. They not only helped us manage our emotions but also gave us a supportive community I didn’t know I needed.

Fast forward to today: this business has given me the time and space to heal, grow, and be fully present as a parent. I’ve turned my passion into purpose by helping others find natural solutions for their health and create vibrant, fulfilling lives.

If you’re looking for a way to feel better—emotionally, physically, or even financially—know you’re not alone. I’d love to walk this journey with you. šŸ–¤ by @jessicalcasey_

Man, I never thought I’d be back doing press-on nails like it’s the 80s, but shit… THEY GOT AN UPGRADE. šŸ’…šŸ¼

Meet the Press-On 2.0.

Over the summer I basically gave up getting my nails done, aka I had ugly man hands for July and August. I hated spending $65+ a pop, hated leaving with sliced cuticles and burned nail beds, and I’m still thinking about the time she kept burning me with the drill and then asked if I had lotion on because my hands were sweating. 😭 Ma’am. My hands are sweating because you are burning meeeeee.

Then add in my occasional language-barrier anxiety where I somehow end up nodding yes to a color or design I absolutely did not want because speaking up feels harder than wearing the wrong shade for three weeks. I know, that part is my own shit.

ANYWAY. Enter the Press-On 2.0. šŸ’…šŸ¼

And no, we’re NOT talking about the old-school press-ons where you’re gluing your fingers together and losing a nail 45 minutes later.

I’ve tried a ton of brands from Amazon, Target, Walmart, drugstores, beauty supply stores and random Instagram ads, and these are the first ones that actually feel like a real upgrade.

It’s literally: SIZE. PREP. PEEL. STICK.

That’s it. Less than 10 minutes and you have a full mani that lasts 10–14 days. The designs are SO freaking fun, with all different shapes, lengths, sizes and styles — and they’re only $12–$18 a set.

Yes, there’s even a monthly mani program for you Type A ladies šŸ™‹šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

So apparently we’re bringing press-ons back. Except this time they’re cuter, easier, cheaper, last 10–14 days, and we’re not gluing our damn fingers together.

Welcome to the Press-On 2.0.

Another part of perimenopause nobody warned me about. Part 2. 🫣

I’ve talked about the puffiness. The weight that wouldn’t move no matter how many of the ā€œright thingsā€ I was doing. And then microdosing the GLP-1/GIP, losing the weight, getting my body back and finally feeling like myself in my body again.

But even after that, something was still off.

I wasn’t necessarily sad. I was functioning. I was working, parenting, getting everyone where they needed to be, keeping the calendar straight, making the doctor’s appointments, showing up for therapy every week and doing all the things. The Type A in mean survives all things šŸ˜‚

I was very successfully going through the motions.

But I was either living with super high anxiety…or I was basically a houseplant. 🫠

There wasn’t much in between.

If I wasn’t anxious about something or having a panic attack, I was low. I wasn’t excited about much. I didn’t really look forward to things. If I didn’t have somewhere I had to be, I could sit in bed and do absolutely nothing.

It was like the light had slowly dimmed and I hadn’t even realized I was sitting in the dark. And I was like this for a year.

And once again, I WAS doing the work. Seven years of therapy. Every week. Working through my anxiety, learning the tools, understanding my triggers, doing the uncomfortable shit.

Therapy wasn’t failing me. I just needed more than one tool.

Because with perimenopause and hormones playing a part in what was happening in my brain and body, there were some things I couldn’t just therapy my way out of.

So at 45, I added some new tools. The the thing I said for YEARS I would never do, Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy—estrogen and progesterone.

And then back on…..Lexapro.

Truth bomb and transparency.

Mother’s Day Eve.

The strange ache of knowing I am deeply loved… while also quietly wondering if anyone remembers I need love poured back into me too.

The disappointment I already know I’ll swallow if tomorrow feels underwhelming. The internal pep talk of ā€œit’s fineā€ before the day even gets here. The way moms learn to make themselves okay because somewhere along the line that became part of the job too. The ā€œmaybe they won’t fight today because it’s my dayā€.

And maybe that’s the part nobody talks about enough.

How we can know we’re enough… and still wish someone would hold us a little more gently sometimes.

It’s ok to have feelings on mother’s day that are overwhelming and not just shits and giggles ā¤ļø by @jessicalcasey_

This winter has fucking sucked.

Yesterday afternoon it was warm enough to be outside, but the baseball field was still covered in snow. But the parking lot was plowed.

So we went to the field sunday. And again yesterday.

I didn’t grow up playing baseball. I don’t have swing tips. I can’t watch a kid and point out bad mechanics or tell him how to fix his stance.

But I do know my kid. And right now he needs movement. Fresh air. A place to throw a ball, swing a bat, and let his brain settle for a little while. I can play catch and sit in it with him.

This post isn’t about baseball. It’s about doing what your kid needs, even when it’s not your thing. Even when you don’t know the sport. Even when the field is still covered in snow.

You figure it out. You show up. You do what you can with what you have. As moms sometimes we over think that we aren’t enough. We are.

Helping your kid through something doesn’t look like having the answers. It just looks like standing next to them while they work through it. Letting him be in control and call the shots and showing upšŸ–¤ by @jessicalcasey_

Over the last two weeks I’ve watched his anxiety ramp up after the most recent incident at school. I’ve seen my fun, carefree, helpful kid suddenly freeze up and start worrying about things no child should be worrying about.

And I sobbed for him.

Not because I don’t think he can handle hard things — he absolutely can.

But I hate anxiety.
I hate how it sneaks in and steals peace from kids who should just be playing, laughing, and being little.

Tonight in his first therapy session he was asked a simple question:
ā€œWhat changed this year?ā€

He said two names.

Two names of kids who had hurt him. Kids who made him feel unsafe.

Hearing that out loud broke something in me a little.

My first thought was honestly, ā€œHere we go again.ā€
Charlotte struggled with anxiety going into middle school, and for a moment my brain went straight to what am I doing wrong?

But I reeled that story in. And I realized something important.

Maybe what I’m doing right is that my kids are allowed to feel things. They’re allowed to tell me when something isn’t okay. They know they won’t be shut down or shamed for it. I grew up in a different generation. The ā€œBe Seen. Not Heard.ā€ generation.

We talk about everything in this house.

And while I can’t protect my kids from the world or control every person they encounter, I can get them help. I can advocate for them. I can use the resources that exist so they don’t have to carry hard things alone.

Therapy has been life-changing in our family. It helped me with my own anxiety. It helped Charlotte. And now it’s helping Jaxon learn how to trust himself — even when other kids sometimes suck.

Sometimes being a mom means fighting battles quietly behind the scenes so your kid can feel safe again. ā¤ļø by @jessicalcasey_

Parenting will humble you real fast.

A few practices ago, Jaxon got hit in the face with a ball.
He’s had injuries before and usually bounces back like it’s nothing — but this one hit different.

Since then, it’s been anxiety the night before practice… and the morning of.
The kind that sits in their body. The kind you can’t logic away.

Today I had to do the hard thing.

I walked my sobbing kid onto the turf and physically got him to practice.
Which might be a top-tier contender for hardest parenting moments. Right up there with pretending you’re calm while your insides are screaming.

It instantly took me back to when Char started middle school — when I literally had to pull her out of the car to get her inside.
(And before anyone panics: yes, we were working with a therapist. Yes, this was recommended exposure therapy. And yes… it was AWFUL.)

Turns out my kids respond really well to exposure therapy.
Which is great for them.
And absolutely brutal for me as a parent.

I’m so incredibly grateful for these two coaches who took extra time today, met him where he was, and helped him feel safe enough to stay. That kind of support matters more than people realize.

If you’re in the thick of helping your kid through fear, anxiety, or something that feels way bigger than a baseball practice — you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re doing the brave thing. Even when it hurts.

And sometimes… loving your kid looks like walking them through the fear instead of letting them avoid it. šŸ’™ by @jessicalcasey_

ā€œIf I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now!ā€ šŸ˜‚

Apparently the fb feeds are mad about how much water AI uses to make a photo. It took one holiday glam prompt to piss off the interwebs. Same people are probably mad about joy in general.

Listen — I recycle. I drink from my Stanley like it’s my job. I turn the water off while brushing my teeth. I do my part.

But I’m also allowed to have fun, be creative, laugh, and use technology without being shamed into a beige existence.

Not everything has to be serious.
Not everything has to be useful.
Not everything has to be approved by the internet’s moral police.

Some people knit.
Some people golf.
Some people make soup from scratch.
Some of us make ridiculous glam photos and laugh.

If seeing someone enjoy themselves bothers you… that might be worth unpacking.
Respectfully.

I’m choosing joy, humor, creativity, and not dimming myself because someone else is uncomfortable with sparkle.

Carry on. āœØšŸŽ„

(oh and if you’re using AI for the ā€œtired mom holiday trendā€ā€¦.just take a selfie and save on that water! ā¤ļøšŸ–¤šŸ˜‚)
