Beautiful October 🍄
You can read my (vaguely) monthly musings thru my bio.

"Here in Herefordshire, the weather has turned moody and autumnal. We drove the scenic route to school this morning, peering up through the drizzle at the canopy of trees turning copper and gold overhead. The boys have lined up conkers along the windowsills (soaked in vinegar first to harden them for pelting at one another)."

🌿 Local Steiner folks! 🌿

My hand-painted maps of Hereford Steiner School are now available through my site 🏫🤍

I’m so in love with this school and all that it offers the children and the wider community around it. It feels really special to have been able to make something that celebrates the place. 🤍

Calendar a go go ✨🔥🌲⭐️
Almost there! It's always such a lot making a calendar, but also one of my favourite whimsical, seasonal things to paint.
I'll be setting up to take pre orders in the next week 🤩

This year I joined the gorgeous artists' collective shop, Oil & Oak, in Hay-on-Wye.
I love working in here; getting away from my quiet desk and being around people! Chit chat, music and inspiration from perusing all the other makers' work during my shifts.

I also love being in a space where everything has been designed and made by people. Not AI! Just crafty whims and handiwork. We would go insane without it 🧶

It's been a long, hot, Herefordian summer. It's felt free & fun. I've squabbled too much with my children, and played quite a lot of football to try and make up for the squabbles. So many kisses and hugs and so much love amongst all the big emotions. I don't remember the summer holidays being so intense before!?!? Yelp.

Today I am back in my home-studio, with the kettle on, endless cups of tea and coffee, socks and slippers and a cool autumnal sky. My lovely friend Cailin is my new neighbour on the farm, and it's so gorgeous to have her to co-work with. Can't believe how lucky I am that she's here.

For the first time in a while I feel really in the zone with my work, and like I just want to be doing it all the time. I'm loving painting this year's calendar, searching for imagery and trying out new ideas. I keep making mistakes and weird unusable side-paintings that will hopefully evolve into other projects one day.
