There are some tunes that sound better live - Skyfall is one of those. A crowd hearing and feeling the tension in the space just hits different with these sort of songs. Thank you @jazzzzaj for suggesting this tune. I learn something new each time I perform on a different stage with different musicians - and this time round I learnt that I enjoy minor tunes that gives me space to sing siren songs ✨

We didn’t go full on traditional Chinese bc friends who know me know I am the most ‘white’ Chinese in existence, but I thought that a touch to our Chinese heritage would be something to look back on fondly. by @jessicateh

Playing with @jazzzzaj will give you moments that really make you wonder what is going on in his mind to create such beautiful sounds. This song has stayed with me long after our show in JaoTim two months ago, so we’ll be bringing it back for our next show.

If It’s Magic was written by Stevie Wonder on the topic of love. Of why we seem to handle such a precious and wonderful thing so carelessly. It’s a beautiful song that would mean different things to different people, and I think it’s a song that will stay with me through this life. I’m looking forward to be singing this again. by @jessicateh

If you’re wondering what’s on the menu, we cooking rojak la: Beatles, Jamiroquai, RAYE, Billy Joel. Told everyone we went for a course - but had too much fun being together anyway.

Nobody else I’ll rather skip a week of lessons for to educate ourselves and to play hooky. Yes, there’s no footage on the course but I swear we did go, we just had a really cute tour guide who came with his DJI camera and caught videos of us while we maxed out that ONE day of touring Yilan 🫶🏻

Taiwan was fun with you @tinnalysha 💓 can’t wait to jump on our next flight and for a holiday this time hehe. And with the husbands. ✨ and if you think I’m clearing my phone space for more holiday videos, why yes, yes I am. by @jessicateh

Keep your last week of September free for jazz and more with @jazzzzaj and myself. Post every show, Cher Siang (whom I refer to fondly as Sifu) will ask me - so when is the next one? It’s a good kick in my butt to keep planning for the next show, because left to my own devices, I would probably do one curated show a year and hibernate for the next 11 months.

I love singing, I love performing. It keeps me motivated and happy. Everything else to do with making the show happen - is the hard part. So here it is! One more round of an eclectic mix of jazz, pop, Motown and more (maybe a jazz version of Where is My Husband????). We hope to see you there! by @jessicateh

Very obviously, I was a typical Asian kid conditioned to perform - especially when praised. @lianne0312 was speaking directly to my inner child 🫶🏻
