One year adoptaversary (yesterday) post!! 🥳🥰 Lilly was just another pitbull type dog abused, neglected and ended up on a shelter kill list. I saw a post on @standupforpitsfoundation and adopted her from across the country. I watched hours upon hours of training videos and prepared myself for a potentially difficult to train dog. And indeed she did show up not knowing a single trick or basic commands but you know what? SHE HAS BEEN A PERFECT DOG. Super fast to learn anything you’re willing to teach. As soon as I communicate something isn’t ok, she doesn’t do it again. She is the sweetest, cutest, cuddliest, clumsiest, funniest, snoriest, MOST GRATEFUL angel of a dog I have ever met. If you are thinking about getting a dog please please PLEASE don’t overlook the perfect dogs in shelters. Start out by fostering if you want to test the waters without fully commiting. Now enjoy some photos and videos over the last year of Lilly piecing my broken heart together and quite literally saving my life. 🥹 by @jessmc515
