Empathy is not sinful. Diversity improves all our lives. Monopolies should be broken. Civics exams to even run for office. No billionaires, no kings.

Life with Holly Woodlawn was at times a comedy of errors, mishaps, and debacles. In this episode, Teresa Conboy and Brian Hamilton share some of their hilarious anecdotes about the late great Andy Warhol superstar who touched us all with her humor, compassion, and endearing charm.

George Méliès was a 19th century French magician, actor, and filmmaker, whose ground-breaking special effects astounded audiences around the world. Jamie Graves is a highly accomplished 20th-century American musician, whose own magic emanates from his studios in Tennessee. And today, I'm bringing these extraordinary talents together for a spectacular holiday promo that celebrates Lou Reed's wildest muse. Full promo available to see on the Love You Madly, Holly Woodlawn Youtube channel.

Happy heavenly birthday today to Holly Woodlawn, born October 26, 1946. To celebrate the day, I'm posting a tribute to her and her friends who've worked to keep Holly's memory and legacy alive. Those homophobes in Florida can rip up our rainbow crosswalks, but they'll never take away the strength and courage it took to walk in our shoes. Holly did more than walk on the wild side. She bucked convention and lived life on her own terms. That alone is inspiring. Despite her many challenges, she was a compassionate person who had an endearing sense of humor. That's how I choose to remember her. Thank you to Ron Frederick for letting me use his music in this video. by @jessparpar

A striking portrait of Holly, shot by Max Aguilera-Hellweg, that was featured in the book, A Day in the Life of Hollywood. Teresa Conboy arranged for this shoot to happen, which occurred on May 20, 1992 on a soundstage at Raleigh Studios. There was no guarantee that Holly would be featured. More than 100,000 photos were submitted for consideration! And for Holly to get a full page, when major stars like Tom Cruise didn't even get half, was a BIG DEAL. And if you look close, you'll see the faint image of Holly's silent film, Broken Goddess, faintly projected on the background. taken in Raleigh Studios by @jessparpar
