I’ve performed at Hay Festival over the years with Dead Ringers and cabaret shows… but I never imagined I’d one day come back as an AUTHOR 🤓

Yesterday I got to share Life is Rosi - through storytelling and singing. Sharing my grandma’s extraordinary life, and a little bit of my own.

I loved hearing afterwards how moved people felt by Rosi’s story and how many it resonated with.

Signing books for a long queue of lovely humans wanting to carry her story home afterwards felt both mind boggling (I wrote a book?!) and very special.

Thank you, @hayfestival. What a gorgeous thing to get to do.

Life is Rosi is out now and available wherever books are sold 📚

And if you have a book club, festival, organisation, community or event that would love a warm, funny, moving evening of story, music and conversation - do get in touch ❤️

Loved putting lots of questions to @jessrobinsonofficial & @adam_hart_history at the excellent @henleylitfest 📘📙
2 great authors, telling 2 very moving family war stories, with so much love, laughs, determination & warmth!
#LifeIsRosi tells Jess’s German-Jewish gran’s story through her revealing war-time diaries, & her own diaries when she was the same age…
Adam’s #OperationPimento recounts his journey in the footsteps of his great grandpa after he was shot down over enemy held territory…
Both great reads, & super to have a full house - thank you Henley!

“Your own voice is valid, and you are allowed to take up space.” 🎙️✨

On the ground at @tedxnorthernquarter, we caught up with multi-award-winning impressionist, singer, comedian, and author @jessrobinsonofficial right after her powerful TEDx debut.

Jess shared the core message behind her talk: intentionally borrowing the superpowers you admire in others, whether it’s confidence, calm, or steadiness, to unlock those exact traits within yourself.

She also dropped a deeply moving lesson on unlearning the need to hide behind a persona or academic credentials to feel impressive, reminding us that creativity is an inherent human right and that simple acts of encouragement can alter the trajectory of someone’s life.

Ready to unlock your own voice and step into high-signal spaces on global stages?

We’re taking a curated cohort of founders, creators, and leaders to Web Summit Lisbon (Nov 7–12)!

EPISODE 92
TEDx SPECIAL // @jessrobinsonofficial 🎤

Meet Jess Robinson - multi-award-winning impressionist, singer, performer, author and, as of this walk… TEDx speaker. 👏🏽

Jess had literally just stepped off the TEDx stage when we went for our walk.

We spoke about:

→ Her Borrow, Repeat, Become method
→ Finding your voice and building confidence
→ Perfectionism and never feeling quite “done”
→ Always thinking about what’s next
→ Learning to actually be present
→ Celebrating what you’ve achieved before chasing the next thing

And obviously… there were a few impressions along the way 😂

Thank you for walking with me, Jess. 👣

I’ve spent much of my career speaking in other people’s voices. Somewhere along the way, I realised I’d made my own rather small.

Ahead of my TEDx talk, I sat down with @andycoleynlp to chat about impressions, being a “good girl”, finding the nerve to speak up, and an idea I’ve been testing on myself: Borrow, Repeat, Become.

There are silly voices too. Obviously.

My TEDx Northern Quarter podcast episode is out now. The listening link is in my Story. ❤️

I did a TEDx talk. In my own voice. Mostly. 🔴

On Friday, I stepped onto that little red circle at TEDxNorthernQuarter and shared something very personal about finding my own voice.

I’ve spent more than 20 years becoming other people. I can sing in front of hundreds of people. But saying “Actually, that doesn’t work for me” hasn’t always come quite so easily. 😂

My talk explored what happened when I started borrowing the qualities I needed to use my own.

The calm to hold my ground. The clarity to say what I meant. The courage to ask for what I wanted.

Borrow. Repeat. Become.

A way to practise showing up for yourself, even when you don’t feel ready yet.

Enormous love and thanks to @andycoleynlp, @simran_whitham and the whole NorthernQuarter team. Thank you also to my coach @jontorrens plus @stevepayneofficial and @gillmmckay for their support, and to my fellow speakers - especially my new Brighton buddy @jessnickscoaching - and everyone who came along. What a lovely lot of humans. ❤️

Thank you also to James @thefixmymind for the initial spark⚡️

I can’t wait to share the full talk when the official video is ready.

For now, I’m allowing myself to be a bit proud. xx
