Silhouette, movement and proportion.

I’ve spent more than a decade leading advertising and creative projects of my own, while also assisting other stylists on theirs. I enjoy both, but I want to make more room for personal projects and the kind of fashion, beauty and lifestyle imagery I’m excited to create and share.

If you’re a photographer, model or hair and makeup artist in SF or LA and want to make something together, I’d love to hear from you!

New styling work, and I finally updated my website. 🖤

When I’m not working on branding and graphic design in my studio, I’m out on set styling. I like having both: being around people, going places, and then coming home to obsess over a different set of details and work on my own. ⚖️

See the new and improved jessrohr.com at the link in my bio.

Mallorca, in black and white, last summer. My first time back in Spain since my early twenties.

We made our way from Valldemossa and Deià in the northwest to Ses Salines and Santanyí in the southeast. Endless swims in some of the warmest, bluest water, drives along the coast, wandering through the most picturesque towns, new Canadian friends, and Dua Lipa dining at the table next to us. Not even my first jellyfish sting could ruin it. It doesn’t get much better.

Always and forever, happiest with the sun and sea. taken in Mallorca, Spain by @jessrohr

Final stop of our Japan tour: Tokyo.

While I typically prefer traveling to smaller towns, there’s something that fascinates me about big cities. The way millions of people move through a limited amount of space, each doing their own thing and somehow creating a system that works. It’s complicated, crowded, chaotic, and fits together like the perfect puzzle.

Especially Tokyo. So clean, safe, and efficient, with the feeling that you could spend a lifetime exploring all the tiny streets and corridors that open up to whole new worlds, and still barely scratch the surface.

Here are the last snaps from our Japan adventure.

1–3. Shinjuku, Tokyo
4–5. View of Mt. Fuji from Mori Art Museum
6. Joseph’s incredible shot of a building in Tokyo
7–8. Enoura Observatory, Odawara
9–10. Odawara Art Foundation
11. Tsukiji Fish Market
12. My Anthony Bourdain moment
13. Barry McGee at Watari Museum

Introducing my latest brand identity for @rachelpally ceramics.

Together, we created a custom logo system that feels soft, feminine, elegant, and timeless while reflecting the human touch and the subtle imperfections that give handmade objects their character.

At the heart of the identity is a custom monogram that serves as a maker’s mark. It extends across clay, blind embossing, embroidery, wax seals, and stationery, with every application reflecting the same craftsmanship and care.

Second round of snaps from Japan. This time, through mountain villages, temple towns, and quieter parts of the country. A few highlights:

Yoro Park felt like stepping into some surreal Teletubby world nestled up against rural mountains, where the waterfalls are said to bring youth if you drink from them. We slept beneath a James Turrell installation at House of Light and watched the sky with new friends from Brescia. We experienced sunrise chanting with monks at Eihei-ji Temple, soaked in a traditional mountain onsen, and drove through endless tunnels surrounded by changing autumn leaves, known as koyo, before eventually making our way to Tokyo.

Still can’t believe we experienced all of this. What an adventure.

1. Arakawa and Gins, Site of Reversible Destiny, Yoro Park, Gifu
2. The Elliptical Field, Yoro Park
3. Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kyoto in the distance
4. Incense ritual to purify the body, mind, and soul before prayer
5. Otani Hombyo Cemetery
6. The home of master potter and ceramicist Kanjiro Kawai, 1937, Kyoto
7-8. Hand-painting paper lanterns, Okugawa Lantern Shop, Kyoto *If only you could smell the paint in this room!*
9. Minamiuonumaihei-ji Temple, an active Sōtō Zen Buddhist temple founded in 1244, Fukui
10. Shirakawa-go and Gokayama in the mountains of Gifu and Toyama Prefectures
11. Hoshigaki season in the village
12. Gassho-zukuri farmhouses in Shirakawa-go, Gifu
13. Stayed at James Turrell’s House of Light, Tokamachi, Niigata
14. Minakami, Fujiwara on our way to Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku
15. Snow monkeys stealing persimmons in town on our way out of the onsen

A little sneak peek at a brand refresh for @kathydeninnophotography, a documentary-style wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Los Angeles.

Working with Kathy, we built a visual identity reminiscent of classic Italian cinema, a nod to her own heritage. The wordmark is set in a customized display serif with dramatic open counters, hairline stems, and extreme stroke contrast. The result is a mark that feels elevated, timeless and editorial.

If you’re looking for a photographer who will document your day the way it actually felt, go give her a follow. She has an incredible eye and is a joy to be around. 🤍

Sharing some film from Amsterdam, June 2025. A place I never expected to love as much as I did.

60 hours filled with riding bikes, houseboat-lined canals. Brick architecture with ornate details, slightly sinking and quite crooked. Passing by so many beautiful people just going about their normal day. Laying in parks in the afternoon light, eating warm stroopwafels and the best apple pie. Popping into endless cute shops. A hotel worth staying at again.

I'm excited to share the branding and visual identity I designed for @ninaatwater, an inclusive gathering and coworking space in Atwater Village, Los Angeles.

Working closely with nina’s founder, Suzanne, we created a brand that reflects the spirit of the space. One built inspired by connection, creativity, and growth.

The bold, symmetrical wordmark speaks to strength and intention, while the color palette draws directly from the textures and tones of the interior. Together, these elements reflect nina’s mission: to build a home for artists, founders, and creatives to come together, share ideas, and try new things.

If you're looking for a space to work, gather, or grow community in LA, go check it out.

More to come as nina continues to evolve. 🌱 by @jessrohr
