Now that I feel more collected I feel that I can talk about this wonderful man who chose to leave this world on his terms a few days ago. Gary was a person who in spite of everything would give you anything you needed to get you through whatever it is you're going through. Food. Shelter. Money. Emotional support. Shenanigans. When I told him I was pregnant years ago he didn't hesitate to send money without me even considering it. When I thought of leaving Vegas he opened his home to me in Florida and guaranteed me a job by disneyworld. He promised daily trips to Disney and Universal because why the fuck not? When I felt so down he didn't hesitate to talk to me for however long I needed to pick me back up. Him, me and another best friend of ours are called the glorious bastards. We had no filter and took no shit. We didn't want peace we wanted problems lol Gary was open minded and intelligent and knew what to say %99 percent of the time. He was like a brother/Father to me. I wanted him to walk me down the aisle when I decided to actually marry. I wanted to make him my first child's godfather.

I absolutely DO NOT have a lot of friends. And for VERY good reason. But him, and the other bastard are my best of friends. And losing him has been so painfully difficult for me. I feel guilt and denial. Could I have said or done something? Should i have flown down there sooner? The warning signs were there but I've been in my own funk that I didn't realize it. Nothing now will change what happened but in the end I know he would want me to keep being Jess.

I designed this for shirts I had made for me, our other friend and his wife. And of course Gary's wife. Who I hope comes out of this strong and knows there are people who love her. Unfortunately the image was cropped (Thanks instagram).

All I ask, and Gary would agree, check on your friends. Check on your family. Tell them you love them. Tell them youre thinking of them. Tell them they matter and the world is better with them in it. Ask them how they are. Because any day can be there last day.

Thank you for the love of my chaggie series. Theyre one of my top couples and this might be my favorite variant. When I first saw this scene it was so mesmerizing and full of love. The confidence and encouragement vaggi gave charlie was inspiring and beautiful. 💖
