I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon(!) with the Parkinson’s Champions team in memory of my uncle Lynn, who I considered my dad. 🤍

Lynn was a lifelong runner. Over the course of his life, he completed more than 15 marathons and found joy, purpose, and community through running. He was also one of my biggest supporters and loudest fans. No matter what goal or adventure, he believed in me.

Last October, we lost Lynn after a 6+ year battle with Parkinson’s disease. During the final chapter of his life, I had the privilege of serving as his primary caregiver, helping him navigate the many challenges of this disease while doing everything I could to protect his dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Parkinson’s changed many things, but it never changed who Lynn was: kind, curious, resilient, hilarious, stubborn as hell, and deeply devoted to the people he loved. Even as the disease progressed, he remained a source of encouragement, laughter, perspective, and unwavering love.

This marathon is for him. For the runner he was, the father figure he became, and the countless individuals and families navigating Parkinson’s disease every day. Every mile will be in his honor.

If you’d like to contribute to my fundraiser, you can click the link in my bio. 🤍 by @jesssbarnard

BLOOM —
This was a special one. Shot for Vogue’s Women by Women submission. @chelstyled and I worked on a direction that represented our cultures while growing up away from our motherlands. This is “Bloom.”

Written by @chelstyled
“You are not enough of…” “You’re too much of…” These messages made belonging feel conditional.
Your identity is always on trial growing up as a mixed girl. A seed of quiet, persistent uncertainty takes
root early, hard to name, but impossible to ignore. It is a feeling that two different halves rarely equate
to being whole. Questions about the made-up island you may or may not have grown up on, alienate
you from feeling truly rooted. Instead of being seen, you’re asked to explain yourself, again and again.
Over time, you find your sisters, who already know your story because they’ve lived it. Suddenly, you
are no longer alone on that island you were placed on. With them, you find connection and clarity. A
reminder that belonging isn’t about fitting into halves, but about claiming all parts of yourself, with
others who do the same.
This is a love letter to Asian culture and mixed-identity sisterhood. A reminder that representation is not just about appearing in the frame, it is sharing your story and being understood. By defining ourselves on our own terms, we honor what it means to be truly seen. To be seen in your softness and your truth by other women who understand. To be reminded that you are made of many things and still whole. We are no longer hidden
or halved. This is where we bloom.

THANK YOU TO THE AMAZING TEAM WHO MADE THIS PROJECT POSSIBLE!
