Pretty sure it looked like this when Kent got into Heaven yesterday. Happy they're together again, but I have a hole in my life that will take a while to heal. Not sure there's much of a heart left to break at this point, the last two years have taken so much. It's different now because when my ex-husband left, I had Clark and Kent. When Clark passed, Kent was in a pretty bad way, but he chose to stick around another 10 months and 2 days to make me brave enough to be completely on my own. That's a kind of love that's so rare, and I'm so lucky to have felt it. But now, for the first time in 14 years, I have to clean out all this dog stuff. And I know it's just stuff and it will go to other pups but...then my apartment is even emptier. It's a dramatic shift and I know dogs get old but it just doesn't seem fair. Anyway, Clark and Kent are up there having the time of their lives again, and that brings me a lot of peace. And especially that he's not in pain. Love my boys, so thankful for everything they taught me and gave me. Kent was my soul dog, and I'm just grateful he got to be mine. by @jessyost_

Kent turned 14 yesterday. He's slowing way down, and I know we don't have long so just trying to make him as happy and as comfortable as I can. He's taught me everything I need to know about real love, and that it doesn't walk away when things get tough. One of the reasons I love the final picture. It's the last one we have together with Clark, and when I was trying to take care of Clark, Kent snuggled his way in to take care of me. Grateful. #beagle #seniordog #love by @jessyost_
