POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi! For those that are new here, or that found me by some fluke, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Julie and travel lights me up. My first solo trip abroad (US to Portugal) was in 2012, and I’ve been traveling as much as possible ever since. I’ve visited all 50 United States, and have currently experienced 75 countries. My only missing continent is Antarctica.

I am not a travel “influencer,” nor is that my aim with this page. I don’t have a travel niche, but I’m at the stage in life where I’m mostly a luxury traveler when it comes to flights and hotels. I like a nice room, good service, and a lie flat seat on a plane, or business class for a flight over 4 hours. I am deep in the points and miles game, so a lot of what we do is not paid for in cash, and I’ll always be open about that.

What can you expect to see here? First truth - I’m a messy traveler. What do i mean by that? I won’t bring a gown to Paris for a photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower (but no shade to those who do) and I’m rarely, if ever, dining at Michelin star restaurants. My hair is often unwashed in a messy bun, and i travel in comfort rather than trying to appear to be someone I’m not.

I like to travel rather than vacation. We are active, outdoorsy, like to experience culture, and are open minded about foods that might seem strange, but are unique to our location. We rarely lie on a beach for days at a time, but you may catch us atop a mountain somewhere.

While we are definitely not rich, i don’t believe travel should be confined to a budget. To me, money is made for enjoyment, for things that light you up, and there’s always more to make. If I’m visiting a location (for perhaps the only time in my life), i won’t restrict my activities or experience because of money. That said, i also don’t believe in carrying debt, so we make the most of what we have and can do. This page will always be open about how we pay for the things we do, and how we maximize using points and miles to do more and travel the way we want to travel.

I hope what you see here inspires you to explore the world. I’m happy to answer questions or just to interact while I’m away.

To traveling far and wide,

It’s been two weeks and I regret to report that the problem has only gotten worse. 🫠🫠🫠 Already thinking about the next one.

Every long-haul business class flight just reinforces the deeply inconvenient belief that this is, in fact, how I’m supposed to live. 😂🥂✈️

Economy Julie had a good run. ✌🏽

80 summers. That’s it. ☀️

So book the trip. Take the picture. Stay out too late. Order the dessert. Dance in the square. Say yes more often. ✈️🍷✨

Because one day, all of this becomes the story you get to tell. ❤️

Somewhere my credit card is asking for privacy during this difficult time 🫠🫠🫠

He’s right. 🤣🤣🤣

Somewhere along the way, “a good view” stopped meaning the best seat in the house and started meaning the top of a castle, a mountain after a hike, a tiny café overlooking the water, or a glass of wine at sunset.

I’m officially at the stage of life where I’ll happily plan an entire day around a really good view…and I have absolutely no regrets. 🥂🌅

Some people come home from vacation needing a vacation. 🤪

I come home needing a massage, more pages in my passport, and 24 hours of uninterrupted sleep! 🫠🫠🫠

Worth every blister, every airport sprint, every 20,000-step day. ✈️😂

And we’re not even done yet 🇸🇰🇸🇮🇦🇹🇨🇿🇩🇪

What if you’ve been looking at life all wrong?

Maybe life isn’t happening TO you.

Maybe, just maybe, it’s all unfolding in your favor. ✨🌅✨

He carries bags. He finds the best angles. He sets up our bags and cords in the hotel room. He’s one of the good ones (and the best one for me!). My travel princess! #travelprincess #travel #funny by @jetsetting_with_julie

Respectfully…who gave Latvia permission to be this charming? 🇱🇻✨

We came expecting a quick stop. We left wondering why more people aren’t talking about Riga.

Beautiful architecture, incredible food, parks everywhere, and the kind of city that quietly steals your heart without trying too hard.

10/10. Would absolutely come back. ❤️

Europe has been all castles, cathedrals, incredible food, and unforgettable memories… but honestly —the real adrenaline rush is finding out whether your suitcase weighs 22.9 kg or 23.1 kg. 😅

We’ve officially reached the stage of the trip where shoes are getting redistributed, toiletries are being negotiated, and every souvenir comes with a risk assessment.

Tell me I’m not the only one who’s repacked a suitcase three times in a hotel room. 😂✈️
