Been thinking lately about how much of this journey is really just learning, unlearning, and figuring out what deserves to come with you.

A few thoughts that came along the way…

Even when you down, you not out.

Confidence is a long journey.

When the storm comes, you gotta root down in your character. You ain’t gotta beat the storm, but you gotta weather it. You ain’t gon’ win all your fights, but you gotta fight ’em.

Independence isn’t always strength.

Being burnt out more than likely means you’re putting your energy in the wrong place/s.

“Letting go” is sometimes the most honest decision you’ve made in years.

People will judge your experience having never experienced anything close to it.

The world always looks a lil different when you’re the one carrying the weight. It’s easy to judge a mountain from the bottom, but it’s different when you’re the one climbing it.

Not every misunderstanding needs correcting. It’s coo to just let people have it.. & keep it pushin. Your ego is what‘s seeking the correction.

Maybe these lessons are the price of clarity.

This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to make.. & didn’t wanna make it but I know Benny touched a lot of lives outside of mine. So here it is..

My guy transitioned 🕊️ . To know Benny was to love him and to know me was to know Benny. My right hand frfr. Been hittin every mission together for the last 10 years and to know I gotta keep pushin w/o you just don’t sit right. You been with me through the trenches, through everything, really watched me grow up.

& you were such a light to so many people. The timing is always messed up, but no one can argue that you didn’t serve your purpose while you were here. We really lost a real one this week.. you were truly 1 of none B. Can’t even explain in words what you meant to me. I lost a piece of me but gained an angel/alebrije to guide me on my path.

Traveling the last few weeks on this trip I kept thinking to myself “it’s crazy where life takes you” and kept me wondering why I am where I am, why I’m meeting all the people I’m meeting, what all has conspired to lead me here in this moment, what this very specific/unique path is all for, how long all this shit lasts. Even like why am I alive at this time in the world. Like outta all the years/times I coulda been here, God put me here now, in these times? So What gift am I supposed to be sharing with the world? What’s the proper ratio of intake and output for executing this “purpose”.

We’re taking over two buildings (a whole block) on 16th st!! Filling up nearly 18,000 sq ft of ground floor space with some of Denver’s best local businesses.

This isn’t just about filling empty storefronts for me. It’s about creating a downtown that feels alive again. A place where people want to pull up, post up, and experience something unique every time they come through. A block full of culture, something Downtown Denver hasn’t had in a long time.

Huge thank you to the DDA, the Mayor, and everyone from the city staff and beyond that played a part in making this happen & for believing in the vision we have. Much love to everyone who’s supported us in any way up to this point.
