The last two years of my life have been the most transformative. Leaving Nashville was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. I love that city, the people, and everything we built there. But I knew the man I wanted to become couldn’t be shaped by the same environment that shaped the man I was. My surroundings had become louder than the voice I needed to hear most, so I chose solitude and silence.

I stepped away from social media, stopped chasing every opportunity, got sober, read my Bible from beginning to end, and worked on becoming someone I could be proud of when no one was watching. I was desperate to hear from God and gain clarity on what He wanted me to build and who He wanted me to become.

That’s what Paradise Maintenance became before it ever became a collection. It was a practice before it became a product. It was the decision to maintain what God gave me before asking Him for more. When that foundation changed internally, everything changed creatively.

I’m super grateful for everyone who put their hands on this collection, shared the story, and chose to support it.

Paradise Maintenance isn’t just a collection. It’s my testimony. It’s the belief that the things God entrusts to us don’t flourish by accident. They flourish through stewardship. Maintenance isn’t something you do after everything falls apart. It’s what keeps you from falling apart.

Now that things are back in motion, the work doesn’t stop. The reading. The writing. The prayer. The discipline. The stewardship. Those weren’t habits to survive a difficult season. They’re the practices that sustain the life we prayed for.

This collection is a reflection of the man I had to become to create it.

Woke up this morning with a immense sense of gratitude. Super thankful for where I am and the ability to make a positive impact on the world. The last couple of weeks have been life changing and I’m thankful that God has chosen me to carry out this mission for his glory. I want to say thank you to everyone that has purchased online, shared or liked anything we’ve produced or released. I try my best to never be too prideful/busy to individually thank anyone for the love they have poured into my product, passion and purpose. I’m looking forward to upcoming release and bringing you all along this creative journey.

This post was suppose to be a #MentalHealthAwareness Month post about reading and the positive affects reading has on our mental health journey and I will still share some books that have helped me in troubling times. But I wanted to share my present feeling of gratitude to everyone for the love, especially the ones that have made it this far to read this lol.

Below are some books I’ve read since the beginning of the pandemic that have changed my mental state which in return has changed my life tremendously:
