As most people know the last year and a half of our lives has been challenging! When I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma I wasn’t sure if I was going to live but I knew I had a choice. I said to myself I could let this cancer take me or I could fight as hard as I could, well I did just that and I never gave up. There is nothing in this world that I love more ( besides my husband) is life! I love being with my friends and family and with a positive mindset I was going to be able to do that again! THANK YOU to everyone who has prayed for me, I don’t think you understand how much it means to me ! To my family, all of you, thank you for showing me so much love and support ! And lastly to my sweet husband @d2thej3 the amount of love I have for you is endless. The sleepless nights and the constant worry with the unknown, you continued to be my rock ! This fight isn’t over but I can tell you this, I love this thing called life and I plan to be here for a very long time! My niece @koriguzzi had this sweatshirt made for me, but what made it beyond special is what she had done on the back. Today I finished my last immunotherapy treatment for stage 4 metastatic melanoma. It’s so crazy to think I went from thinking I was going to die to fighting my hardest fight, but here I am 24 extremely challenging treatments later Im still here💪🏼

It's hard to put into words what this moment means. This journey has been filled with fear, hope, exhaustion, gratitude, and more strength than I ever knew I had. There were days I felt brave, days I felt broken, and days I simply showed up-and that was enough.

I am deeply thankful for my doctors, nurses, and medical team who carried me with skill and compassion, and for my family and friends who stood beside me when I didn't have the energy to stand on my own. To every single person in my life, every message, every prayer, hug and quiet moment of support mattered more than you know! To my rock, my love, my husband , what would I have done without you! Your motivation , your advocacy and most importanly your love, made all of the dark moments look bright! You made sure I had the best care at the Cleveland Clinic and boy did I ever!!

This isn't just the end of treatment-it's a milestone, a breath, and a reminder of how precious life is. I move forward with hope, gratitude, and a heart forever changed. My fight isn’t over but completing my cancer treament is huge so love life, love and appreciate the small things and always love and embrace yourself! Summer
It brings sunshine, vacations, pool days and memories but it also brings bad decisions of tanning, which isn’t a sign of healthy skin. It’s your body’s response to UV damage. That “base tan” doesn’t protect you from skin, tanning beds aren’t a safe alternative either. UV damage builds over time, even if you don’t burn. Melanoma doesn’t care about your age, your skin tone, or how much you love being outside. The best summer glow is the one that doesn’t come at the expense of your health.

Love to the Melahomies who shared their own summer truths and personal experiences for this post. Your honesty and willingness to help educate others through your advocacy, will help someone make a different choice this summer. So thank you so very much for sharing with me!

Protect your skin, wear your SPF, seek shade when you can and don’t skip your yearly skin check. Your future self will thank you.

I'm proud to be participating in a 5K fundraiser to support melanoma research as the Captain of Team Frederick.
Melanoma research has changed my life. After being diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, I experienced firsthand the incredible impact that research, innovation, and new treatments can have. Because of the dedication of researchers, doctors, and supporters, there is hope for patients and families facing this disease.

Every dollar raised helps advance research, improve treatments, and bring us closer to a cure. If you'd like to support Team Frederick, any donation—big or small—will make a difference.
