You can almost taste the incline - welcome to the nastiest spot of the four miles of lumps on #schofieldpass, just outside #MarbleColorado. Totally worth it. Don’t come light, and bring a good spotter (and a #thirdgen4runner) when you’re #fourwheeling this chunk of #offroadcolorado.

Got to keep humble, because as soon as you’re proud to #flexlikea4Runner on some wayout corner of #LeadKingBasin, some #turbocanam jockey comes along and reminds you that his buggy can do everything your plated truck does, but upside-down and in reverse. …Except drive through #CrestedButte without a ticket and not #eatdust all day. taken in Marble, Colorado by @jfsummit4

Just another #thirdgen4runner dropping the nutcracker without a flinch. We got lost in the woods (outside #MarbleColorado) doing the #rockandbonk on the #LeadKingBasin loop. …And after you #flexlikea4runner, advocate for your access while you can.

There goes the #Jeep - #rockandbonk and the #wranglerjk still didn’t lose that license plate. …On the plus side, we’ve finally found a buggy that had more things fall off than a #thirdgen4Runner. #PearlPass would probably be a different kind of awesome running south from Aspen (and up junk like this). #PearlPass between Crested Butt and Aspen is a great day to spend your way - throw in a #thirdgen4Runner (ala @thedieselayatollah & @garagehour) and all you need to do is figure out #whatfelloff after you #flexlikea4runner. #heydiddlediddle

There’s plenty of game-time video from #JFSummit4 - we’ll get to it all. This is the #IneosGrenadier trundled in by #PapaSmurf, coming downhill from the peak of #PearlPass (still south of the shunt up #MontezumaBasin). It smashed about every rock flat, so now’s the time to get an on-trail cake-walk in its wake.

The gang’s all back from #MarbleColorado (pardon the delay - been cleaning trucks for two weeks)… #Thirdgen4Runner parts wore out, #Jeeps broke in every mudhole, #sidebysides made everyone look like an amateur, and the #IneosGrenadier went everywhere the small buggies did. Two thumbs up for the town, Eagle’s Nest and some really good ‘froading. taken in Marble, Colorado by @jfsummit4

Don’t let the net fail you when you’re way out - so much good where-to-go is in print. A #historiclocation, #forgottentrails, #triedandtrue details that are not online (when you’re offline)… The JFSummit4 crew will be #gettinglost on every shunt, offshoot and sidetrail possible this week, but #oldbooks know where we’ll be.
