POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We landed at Leeds Bradford at 3pm yesterday then rushed to Ilkley to collect my newly framed painting from Dalesway Picture Frames before they closed.

Then over to Lancashire to pick up our Goose and drop my painting with my mum and dad who kindly offered to deliver ‘Last Orders’ today.

Hopefully it will get selected for the open exhibition at the Haworth which opens next weekend. Mum said they remembered my ‘Thief’ painting which was first exhibited there a few years ago.

Tic-Tac passed away last Tuesday after a short bout of pneumonia, and as a family we are devastated.

She came to us at one year old, a fiery little character (with a dodgy eye) and from that day on she ruled the roost (poor Goose)!

Letting Goose in from the garden this morning, reminded me of how she always stood first in line at the back door for her breakfast. She never twigged that when the door opened outwards, she was nudged to the back of the queue – clever Goose!

Tic-Tac loved her food and always had something in her mouth – a twig, a ball of parched grass (nearly the death of her on several occasions) or some crumbs off the floor. If she’d been human she would have smoked 20 a day!

Tic-Tac was SMALL PRINT’s mascot and every December her poster filled the window display with a seasonal promotion. She always appeared on our family Christmas card.

I always warned customers, as they sat down to discuss a job, that if they started stroking her, they were not allowed to stop.

She always nudged you with her paw to let you know more pampering was required.

Last week I bought a large canvas to create something special in her memory, based on a David Hockney etching that I have always loved.

Goose is 12 and a half now and he has been spoilt rotten this last week. In an effort to keep him going we have invested in some wheels.

He’s getting lots of smiles in his new, red pram which allows us to carry on doing the longer daily walks around the village which Tic-Tac loved so much.

Thanks for all the lovely messages of support from family, friends and customers.

It was a lovely feeling watching complete strangers interact with my #painting at the opening last night of the New Light Art Prize.

I don’t paint much these days, but when I do it makes the solitary toil, in a dank cellar, seem all the more worthwhile.

Great to see other artist's work I admire on social media in the flesh, as well as a couple that I personally know.

Very happy for ‘Thief’ to fly around the country for the next 15 months, culminating in December next year, at The Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate.

So guard your chips!

I’ve been listening to so much great, new music this past few weeks.

I’ve been playing this CD all weekend since Jon Palmer personally dropped a copy of his new solo project through my letterbox on Friday.

And it’s special to me because I did all the photography and design for the four page CD case.

Jon is the king of the guitar lift which was the basis for my idea when we went up Otley Chevin on a very miserable and windy Friday night in early September.

That idea wasn’t working for me, but in-between the wind and rain, we did manage to pull off some lovely shots within our one hour photo session.

You can see Jon Palmer with his full Acoustic Band on Wednesday 28th October at Otley Folk Club.

Fellow Velvet Owl @lumitch1 got me a bargain, last minute ticket for the SOLD OUT Beth Orton gig at The Howard Assembly Rooms last night.

I didn’t take many photos as I’m never sure whether you are allowed to bring a camera into this glorious venue, but I had it with me anyway from Rosie Doonan’s tea-time gig.

I only have the Central Reservation CD, which was left behind by the previous owners of our house. I really enjoyed swaying to the unexpected jazz groove and highlight of the evening goes to 'Waiting' which could be one of my favourite tracks of 2026.

Lovely support was from Family Stereo who are new to me. Lucy informed me that lead singer Blake Watt is the progeny of Everything But The Girl.

Happy Birthday to our GOOSE who is 13 (practically a teenager) today!

He joined the Leeming clan at 18 months and has been my artistic muse ever since.

His footballing days are over and he spends most of his time sleeping.

He can still do a flight of stairs, several times a day, at both work and home.

The first time we ever walked him we had to carry him over the railway bridge – he was terrified of those steps.

He’s reached a cracking age for a bulldog, with his handsome good looks and his coat still feels amazing.

We don’t know how long he has left, but we cherish every day that he is still with us!

I popped into the @haworth.art.gallery open exhibition with my parents at lunchtime, to see my painting ‘Last Orders’.

I always like to exhibit in my home town of Accrington and have been doing so, on and off, for nearly 40 years.

Here are a few artworks I admired, including two paintings by fellow @newlightart alumni @peterjameshoughton_artist by @jglcreate

Pushed Goose up to The Hermit at lunchtime with @lotty_leeming & @196elliott for a bit of lunch to celebrate his 13th Birthday this Thursday.

We then walked down into Burley and caught the train to Ilkley for a few more afternoon beers.

Our Elliott wasn’t up for having his photo taken but his mate @fergusgrayy isn’t one to shy away from the camera.

A very enjoyable evening at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds last night.

It was Apollo Junction’s homecoming show, promoting their new live from The Isle of Wight Festival LP, which I designed the posters and flyers for.

I took my best mate Paul Brown along. He had never heard AJ before, but by the end of the night was singing along to the choruses like a life long fan!

Paul even noticed cheeky bassist Ben’s lack of front teeth at one point. Going through the photos this morning, I now know what he’s on about!

An impromptu trip to Harrogate, trying to shake off my three day old head cold.

Lured into the @mercerartgallery with an iconic Atkinson Grimshaw for their latest exhibition of Victorian masterpieces.

Some great paintings in there and this effortless Singer Sargent lithograph also took my fancy.

Went blind for 30 seconds trying to compose the shot of the projected window decal (in slides 2 & 3) in the room housing the contemporary works.

Star of the show for me was Dorothy Cross’s incredible Giclée print ‘The Worm Hole’.

Managed to pick up the latest @classicpopmag magazine which features my @themissionuk photoshoot from two years ago in conjunction with @leedsgoth by @jglcreate
