Hey internet. So unless a bunch of people unfollow me after this post I somehow have 18k followers now and a lot of you are new so I thought I’d do the thing that people do by introducing myself. My name is Jason Garland Sturgill, if you were curious what the G stood for. I’m from a small town in Southwest Washington near Portland, Oregon where I have lived as an adult since 1998. By that number you can tell I’ve been around for awhile, I’m 46 but have only been drawing for about 12 years. I didn’t draw much when I was a kid and didn’t think that was something that I would ever do. I live with my wife, 12 year old son, a dog rescued from a Korean rescue (@wildheartspdx) and the being that really inspired this whole drawing adventure…our 14 year old scottish fold cat named Cheeto aka #cheetochan. I’m blind in my left eye from a bb gun accident and yes I have seen the Christmas Story. I have Bipolar II, which is different from Bipolar I, and a lot of my personal work revolves around mental health and encouraging others to D̷E̷P͟R͟E͟S͟S͟ ̷I̷O͟N͟! I thrive on travel and have not so secret aspirations of living overseas someday, Japan/Amsterdam/London would be preferable. I do commercial work as well. Some of my clients include Warby Parker, Illustoria, The Quiet Life ( I did the 🤫 icon), and I’ve done all the beer labels for @wolvesandpeople from day 1. New work for The Shack of Sellwood. There’s this cute little building that had sat dormant in Sellwood Park, it had been built in 1923 and for generations was run by the city providing all sorts of programming every summer. Last summer @sellwoodcommunityhouse was able to take over the shack and bring back a wide variety of events and snacks for the summer. There’s even a @pianopushplay piano. Since I made that post about getting a new camera I realized that one wasn't for me. So after a ton of more research I ended up getting a different camera which I've been having fun shooting with, a Lumix GX85.
