It’s hard to contextualize to people just how special @luftgekuhlt coming to Durham, North Carolina is. While I didn’t grow up in Durham, I spent a lot of time in my formative years walking around the @americantobaccocampus with my camera. Photos from Luft over the years and stories from the broader Porsche community during that time in my teen years shaped my current aesthetic sensibilities in many ways.

This past Saturday was an incredible crashing-together of worlds I thought might always stay separate. It was totally wonderful.

That’s a really flowery way of saying Luft 11 absolutely rocked. Thank you to all the talented people who brought it to life, and to the amazing community of doers and shakers in the triangle for welcoming and catalyzing the celebrations, (looking at you @_speedhouse_ ). I love this state and my people here.

I finally found a car to pair with the Land Cruiser, and what a fantastic car. It’s the real gem of the e90 lineup and maybe even all of BMW from this era, I believe. With the last NA 6-cylinder BMW produced, the 328i is nimble, smooth as you like, efficient, and engaging (with the 6-speed manual). In the past I would have gone on record as disliking all red cars, but Japan Red on Oyster White is really working for me. I may be delusional, but there’s a whiff of yacht club to it, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

The day after I bought my 1998 4Runner, I made a trip to the beach to test its chops in the sand. My immediate faith in this 23 year old car to make a 260mi round trip is a perfect example of why I love it. It’s a loyal, playful companion that, so far, has not been stumped. Can’t wait to make memories any and everywhere with my joyful little Sport Utility Vehicle. #4runner #toyota taken in Fort Fisher by @jgwcreative
