2022 marked a new milestone in my journey. It's finally here, mercilessly unleashed to get your eyes scorched. This is a comics project entitled Angelslayer, written by Conjurer of Putrid Desecrations a.k.a Eldritch Fog (guitar player of Savage Necromancy and Moribund Dawn), illustrated by yours truly.
Doing a comics project once again is like a dream comes true. Last time I did a comics project was when I was in high school. As time passes by, I've abandoned the dream of being in the comics industry, got busy with college life, and found my path in the world of metal artwork instead. But life will always have its own way as the time had come once more to revisit my old realm. Luckily I never lose my interest in reading comics, mostly old titles, and some ongoing stuff that I feel relevant. That point is where I believe I still have the knack to do it, however there are still a lot more to study to catch the dynamics and different atmosphere of comics' story-telling.
Previously working with Eldritch Fog for Savage Necromancy's tshirt artwork, he knows that we share a huge interest for comics and geeky stuff. Shortly, the offer to do his comics project as the illustrator came in and for me it was a no-brainer decision. It was done in 3 months after some difficulties to manage my schedule. It's been through some process of editing and lettering until it's perfectly printed.
And here it is, the Angelslayer. A bestial war black metal hymn that is sung through a chain of visual blasphemies. Imagine blasting off the musics of Archgoat, Black Witchery and Blasphemy while reading Berserk and Faust. You're exactly there.
Issue #2 is in progress. Expect chaotic full-action scenes, storm of flying severed heads and limbs and burst of blood and innards.
