No Christmas card this year, so here’s to wishing everyone a very happy holiday season from my crew to yours!

-Bear (19) is doing great in her sophomore year at Florida State University working hard in and out of the classroom
-Hud (16) is boarding at Christ School in Asheville, NC. We’re proud of him and the young man he’s becoming through this experience
-Hazel (6) the caboose is in kindergarten and keeps us laughing and on our toes at all times
-Bruno (3) is a professional eater and sleeper taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @jhatchlife

This week all 3 kids start school in different states. Bear heads to Florida State for her sophomore year, Hud is off to Christ School in NC, and Little Ms Hazel starts kindergarten here in SC. Excited for them and we’ll take all the prayers and good vibes you can send their way! by @jhatchlife

As I enter year 44 with the fam, I have come to know a few things. Life is both beautiful and messy. There are moments you will feel bullet proof and others that will leave you helpless. We all see the world through our own perspective and experiences, try and have empathy. Life will life for us all. Most challenges are temporary, but in the moment can be hard to see. Looking backwards will remind you how blessed you’ve been. Days can seem long, but the years of will fly bye. Hope is wildly important and peace is everything. Seeing your family happy and healthy will always be undefeated and should never be taken for granted.

Happy Graduation Beautiful Berkleigh Bear!! You did it with class, grace, grit, determination and hard work. We are beyond proud of the young lady you have become and we love you more than you could ever imagine. Now it time for your next chapter at Florida State and in Spain. We love you, we will miss these days, but you are ready to put your fingerprints on this big world and make your mark. You’ve got this and I’m grateful to have this front row seat!!

I came across this quote and thought it was a worthwhile share:

“No matter how long it lives, the Greatest Lion will eventually die miserably. That’s the world!

They may die young from injuries they sustained while defending their Pride.

They may die old, enfeebled by age. At their Peak, they rule, chase other animals, catch, devour, gulp and leave their crumbs for hyenas. But age comes fast.

The old Lion can’t hunt, can’t kill or defend itself. It roams and roars until it runs out of luck. It will be cornered by the hyenas, nibbled at and eaten alive by them. They won’t even let it die before it is dismembered.

Life is short. Power is ephemeral. I have seen it in lions. I have seen it in old people. Everyone who lives long enough will become very vulnerable at some point.
