Me and @eatingchipsrn have been wanting to go down to the Big Easy for quite some time. We, finally, made it happen and we got to celebrate her birthday while we enjoyed our stay. The city definitely lived up to the hype and I think it’s safe to say; we’ll definitely be visiting New Orleans again in the future. Shout out to my brother @phil.bda for giving me the opportunity to experience Venice and Florence. I made some new friends and got to experience an amazing culture. I’m gonna miss going heavy on the carbs and enjoying an espresso martini (or three) everyday but I’ll return someday. by @jhillfreal

It’s ironic how our most enlightening moments can occur while we’re simultaneously experiencing our darkest times. There isn’t a day that goes that I don’t think about one of my best friends/family members taking his last breath in my arms. I’ve witnessed a lot of things that aren’t for the weak-hearted but that was by far the most difficult thing to digest. It took the life out of me for a long time. At one point, my life felt Ja Rule’s rapping career after G-Unit started releasing those diss tracks. I was on the ropes and life was giving me its best impression of Tyson in his prime. I don’t know what made me snap of it but now I feel like Buster Douglas did on that miraculous night in the Tokyo Dome. I feel unstoppable. I feel like my story has just begun. The only things that I have on my mind these days are my loved ones, my goals, and all the people who doubted/gave up on me. I remember telling him my plan and his response was, “Show them your presence.” I know people sleep on me but I love every bit of it. My appetite’s at an all-time high and I’m ready to eat. “Your world is a living expression of how you are using and have used your mind.” The importance of your thought process and mindset cannot be reiterated enough. I was reading last night and I came across an illuminating anecdote. The author was speaking about how he had a close friend who would always refer to “problems” as “projects.” He spoke about how he would usually just chuckle when he overhead him using the euphemism. But one day, he questioned him about why he chose to do so. His friend responded by telling him it was a mental hack he learned throughout many failed attempts and it lead him to a supernatural serenity with his decision making. Figure out what triggers your mind into acquiring that clear vision needed to reach your destination. I can’t wait to see you get there. Much love ❤️ by @jhillfreal

I believe, in order, to achieve the optimal performance within your existence; you must consistently elevate your mind, body, and soul. With that being said, I’ve noticed that I’ve been devoting more consciousness to my mental health. I think it’s safe to say that the amount of emotional triggers has increased, significantly, in the past year or so. It’s almost inevitable that you’re going to find yourself in an emotional flux at some point throughout this. And if you haven’t; more power to you brotha/sista! I wrote this because I want whoever’s reading this to know that you’re not alone. Whatever you’re feeling; there’s someone right by you trying to stay afloat in the depths of the same sea. In these times; let’s try our best to raise the amount of compassion we have for ourselves and the people we interact with everyday. Stay positive. Stay informed. And most importantly, keep fighting. For years, I had this inextricable confusion surrounding finding a purpose. I attempted several practical approaches. No matter how suitable I felt the actions I were taking to be; I was just propelling a continuum of uncertainty. I was lost man. I felt like the feet of a washed up vet at the mercy of a prime Allen Iverson double crossover. I never found my purpose. It found me, actually. Those things that you’re passionate about aren’t random. There’s a divine reason behind why you’re so intrigued and infatuated. I’m telling you this because I want you to stop hitting the ignore button on what may be your calling. I love you all a lot and I hope that you love yourselves even more ❤️ #doyou by @jhillfreal

I haven’t touched on this until now because I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to completely take in what happened. I watched the video the day it was released and as usual; I was at a lost for words. I laid in bed that night just thinking to myself how easily that could have been myself, one of my relatives, or one of my friends/peers at any given moment. It’s another horrific incident that shows the brutal truth of what it’s like to be Black in America. People who aren’t will never understand how it feels to deal with White Gaze on a daily basis. They’ll never understand how it feels to be suspected of doing something wrong when you’re simply existing as a human being in society. They’ll never understand what it feels like to be ostracized from “human rights” because your skin has melanin. This young brother wasn’t committing a crime. This young brother wasn’t armed or dangerous. The thing that cost him his life was being a black man in America. Point blank period. I’m tired of seeing people being offended by the truths people are sharing. If you are offended by what is being said about this lynching that was captured on camera; you’re a part of the problem. I’m not even gonna entertain the idea of someone making an attempt to somewhat justify what Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael did on February 23rd. The only thing I can do is hope and pray that justice will be served for the murder of this young man. My thoughts and prayers go to the Arbery family and all those close to them. My thoughts and prayers also go out to all my brothers and sisters in the world who are all too familiar with these nightmares becoming a reality for our people. I love you all and I hope that you all stay safe at all times when you’re moving around out here ♥️✊🏾 by @jhillfreal

“We’re possibly on the brink of a needless war that will cost countless American lives because the President wanted a distraction from impeachment.” This came from a dreadful read this morning. Another air strike took place yesterday. This time it is believed to be retaliation from IRGC’s Air Force in an operation called Operation Martyr Soleimani. If you haven’t heard the news yet; Donald Trump ordered an air strike that resulted in the death of Qasem Soleimani. Soleimani was the head of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corp Quds Force. CNN reported this as a “decisive defensive” action. I’m still doing research and trying to get down to the root of this (which I prolly never will) but if anyone has more information; please inform ya boy. by @jhillfreal
