Yesterday at the BREATHE program, I stepped into a role I never thought I’d play so naturally.

I played a Nurse!.😌🩺

And honestly, it was more than just wearing a scrub and delivering lines. I had to understand the character, respond to situations, carry myself with confidence, and make the audience believe that, for those few moments, I was actually a nurse.

That is one thing I love about Theatre. One thing I love about being a Creative. 🌝

It teaches you to step into worlds beyond your own. To research. To observe. To adapt. To become.

Yesterday, I wasn't just acting as a nurse. I was reminded of the versatility of a Thespian.

A huge thank you to the Leadership of CEGAM for creating opportunities that allow us to constantly grow, learn, and explore beyond our comfort zones.🙌🤎

Give me a character, give me a story, give me a world, and watch me figure it out.

I am a Proud Thespian, and I do the impossible! 🎭✨

Some people don’t correct you because they care. They talk you down because they can’t stand seeing you rise.

People who constantly talk others down often reveal more about their own mindset than about the person they are criticizing. They belittle someone’s dreams, appearance, achievements, abilities, or even the things that make them unique, just to make themselves feel bigger.

Often times, it comes subtly. A little comment here, a “joke” there, a backhanded compliment disguised as concern. Before you know it, you’re questioning yourself and shrinking to fit someone else’s perception of you.

Not every correction is talking someone down, though. Correction builds; belittling diminishes.

You don't have to shrink someone else to prove that you are standing tall...
