Quincy Scott… watching you become more you every year has been my favorite part. You’re curious, confident, hilarious, and already a natural leader. People are drawn to your joy, your energy, and your big personality—and I pray you never lose that.

Keep asking questions. Keep taking up space. Keep being exactly who God created you to be.

14 years. Six years married.

We’ve grown up together.

Built careers. Became parents. Took some hits. Celebrated some wins. Changed our minds. Changed our plans. And through it all, we’ve kept choosing each other.

I’m still proud of you. Still laughing with you. Still looking over at you like… “Yeah, I did alright.” 😏

Permit me this moment. 💁🏾‍♀️✨

Last week, I was honored to receive AFP New Jersey’s Outstanding Young Professional Award.

For my non-fundraising friends, AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) is the largest professional membership organization for fundraisers in the world. To be recognized by my peers as a standout fundraising professional in New Jersey is not something I take lightly.

And if I’m being honest, this one feels extra special because it came from people who actually get the work.

They know fundraising isn’t just asking for money. It’s building relationships, earning trust, solving problems, connecting people, and sometimes making something out of nothing. 😂

So while awards have never been the goal, I’m proud of this one.

I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built, the reputation I’ve earned, and the impact I’ve been fortunate to make alongside some incredible people and organizations.

Thank you to everyone who has poured into me over the years.

Life happened in the middle of the dream — work, family, responsibilities — but Mark never quit on himself. And after 16 years, he officially became a Morehouse Man.

Let this be a reminder that your timeline does not disqualify you. You are not behind, and it is never too late to finish what you started.

First panel back outside since having my baby… and yeah, it was a whole vibe. ✨

Sitting on the Women in Development-NJ panel last week felt like a reintroduction — not just to the work, but to myself. Showing up in my fullness, speaking my truth, and owning every part of my journey… it hit different this time.

We got into the real — the barriers, the perceptions, and the reality that women (especially Black women) are still fighting to be seen as leaders and decision-makers in spaces tied to money and influence. And I said what needed to be said.

But what made it all feel even more special? My mom and my husband were right there in the room. Supporting me and reminding me who I am. That kind of love? Unmatched.

Grateful. Grounded. Growing.

A year ago today, life flipped. I was laid off unexpectedly. It was chaotic, uncertain, and a little scary…

But funny enough — just a week prior, I had launched my consulting business. A tiny seed planted without knowing how badly I’d need it.

I also started therapy (which has been life-changing, btw) ✨ That healing space helped me confront old habits, survival-mode tendencies, and emotional armor I didn’t realize I still carried.

And the biggest twist? I found out I was pregnant a few days after being let go. Talk about divine timing 🫶🏾

This past year has taught me:
- To slow down.
- To create boundaries.
- To embrace softness instead of hustle.
- To believe that I don’t need to have all the answers.

What’s for me won’t miss me. And I don’t always have to be the strong one 💛

So farewell to people, places, and positions that aren’t worthy of my light. So much can happen in a year. And through it all — my God doesn’t play about me 💫

To my family + my people — old and new — thank you. You held me up when I couldn’t do it alone, and you held a mirror to my face when I needed to see myself clearly. Truth is, I don’t always see what you see in me — and sometimes that feels like both a gift and a challenge. But you never let me forget who I am. And I love you for that 💛

Life lately 💭

June moved fast but was full of intention, connection & joy.

From welcoming our precious CAL with my incredible sorors, to sunshine-filled picnics, baby giggles, and backyard cookouts — i’ve been living in love and legacy all month long.

✨sip & see hosted by my chapter sisters — a dream. Everything from the flowers to the advice cards was thoughtful and full of love. Calvin? He slept through most of it 🙃

🧸 boys being boys — messy, loud & perfect.

🔥 juneteenth cookout — joy & culture on 100.
