So stay with me and hold me tight. And dance like it's the last night of the world.

#jiantravels takes us back to #vietnam where at least now I have a real aodai for Barbie. G.I.Joe puts on his musical hat, and poses for a #misssaigon shoot from my own imagination. Barbie should have done a musicals series but I think the Phantom set from FAO did not do well (it was also pretty expensive for the time), so they didn't pursue. Ah well.

Anyway. I'll be here for another week so get ready for some scenery, food and FlushableFashion. by @jianyang1979

Who else thinks this 2026 Bob Mackie Blonde is the third piece of the puzzle? 2001 gave us Radiant Redhead, and 2003 gave us the Liza Minelli-esque Brunette Brilliance. Both dolls had exquisite embroidery and beading that went all the way around the dress. Then this year, we got a glitterbomb with two tiny pieces of embroidery, basic shoes and really weird hooded eyeliner painted on. NGL I'm not a huge fan of this blonde, and I think the glitter on the dress is giving playline vibes, but I think these three look great together as people experimenting with supermarket box dye who went through Bob Mackie's fashion archives and decided to play dress up. by @jianyang1979

I have many thoughts about Totally Hair Don't Care Barbie. To some extent, she's one of the best releases this year. She was unannounced, unexpected, and a huge breath of fresh air. No designer hype, no nostalgia hype, no limited numbers hype. Because of her simplicity, she was flawlessly executed and brought me back to a time when Byron Lars brought us some of the best Barbie hairstyles you'd ever seen on a series of black dolls. But to me as an avid collector, if you're gonna call her Totally Hair, put her in Pucci. It's non-negotiable. Here I tightened the Fashionista Totally Hair dress and gave her Rocker earrings and a quintessentially 90s Barbie bracelet. And as simple as she is, I think she's perfect. by @jianyang1979

#jianunboxes continues to be some of the worst #unboxing content you'll see on Instagram. But @toysrus_sg now has these pregnant dolls (in blonde and brunette) by @zuru.toys @pptoys.sg and I'm HERE for it. The doll is internet viral, so I knew I wanted her in my collection as a timestamp in history. And instead of a regular unboxing I thought I'd show you Pregnant Midge from Barbie Mattel, and also Steffie Love who feels falling pregnant for some strange reason. Dammit Kevin.

From Palm Beach to Sentosa. The Palm Beach Silkstone Barbie dolls came to explore the gorgeous @amarasanctuary on @sentosa_island. Both Palm Beach and Sentosa are known as coastal enclaves which serve as a playground for the ultra-wealthy (and the occasional tourist like me). In this case I thought it was apt because we were celebrating #hellosnaggle's birthday and both Palm Beach Honey and (a reimagined) Sugar Daddy Ken came with dogs.
.
The dolls: people forget that Palm Beach Honey Barbie was the first to debut Miss Honey, the dog that would become a staple on @barbiestyle. Sugar Daddy Ken was cancelled and later reimagined as 'Sugar's Daddy' Ken for the Barbie Movie so we eventually got his outfit which I'm in LOVE with. This was an outstanding set and arguably one of my favourites. Palm Beach Breeze has a great kaftan. Palm Beach Swimsuit is the best Silkstone swimsuit you've ever seen and Palm Beach Coral is a direct reference to a 1968 Valentino piece. These are 2010 dolls and I'm still obsessed. by @jianyang1979

The great thing about having a private jacuzzi in your room (ok your dog's room) is that you can do weird things like set up a whole Barbie Dream Pool in your backyard as a poorly-planned photo backdrop for #hellosnaggle's birthday breakfast of local favourite Nasi Lemak, but reimagined for your fuzzy companion. Honestly his breakfast looked better than mine, but I make notoriously horrible food choices when my food isn't picked for me #truestory.

#hellosnaggle checked in to the pet-friendly @amarasanctuary for his sixth birthday celebration, where he got his own pet brunch, birthday cake, and room gifts by @thecollarclubsg and @kohepets. We checked in as his guests but also got the full Amara hospitality treatment. It's nice that they care about the humans too...

Happy birthday Snaggle.

#jiantravels brings us to @sentosa_island for Snaggle's birthday! And this time, the guy gets some luxury. But first, his favourite treat - a trip to the beach.

Flew back to Singapore, took off my shirt, threw on a blazer and caught the last day of @ultraluxeglobal, an invite-only luxury offering with jewellery and lifestyle brands to discover. Always great to see my friends - attendees, business owners and in this case, @reculturelife who has stood by my side as I get in shape for my... late forties.

I didn't even have time to choose a Luxe doll to bring, so here's a lazy photo of Lavender Luxe Barbie from 2015. She's so luxe she would have fit right in. by @jianyang1979

DSLR camera quality shots on my new OPPO Find X10. It's got a #Hasselblad Triple 200MP camera system for the tiny details toy photography requires, but balances perfectly with LUMO True Image Engine which highlights natural details and colour accuracy. This Instagram page has always been about bringing my toys to life through photography, and this phone has unquestionably upped my game.

It's not the best dress, but it is after all, a plastic bag. This was actually the only plastic bag I got while shopping in Vietnam so I wanted it to be immortalized in a shiny pink dress. Nah, no one in the pool was staring at me.

Putting the OPPO Find X10 lens to the test. Closeups. Portraits. Landscapes. Nights. I may not like humans much but these dolls are popping.
