For 7 years I’ve made the pilgrimage out to Black Rock City, and every year I come home with my heart full, survival skills sharpened, new friends that feel like family, and the deep motivation to build and create something larger than life where I live.

Every year is a new experience, but this year I stepped completely outside of my comfort zone. I helped organize a camp of almost completely new people from all over the place (NOLA, MS, TX, KS), and we successfully created a little home in the badlands of Open Camping (4:00 & H).

You always hear horror stories about meeting people on the internet you don’t know, and I was completely prepared for drama. I didn’t even know what some of these people looked like, let alone their skill set, spirit, or playa experience. What I got was the most wonderful, kind, thoughtful, bright, talented, open minded, eager, selfless, hysterical, and joyful group of campers I could ever ask for.

But that’s what Burning Man is all about. Deep human connection through survival striving for a common goal.
Needless to say, the humans that made up my mighty little camp have all become dear friends that I would willingly go the distance for.

We survived high winds and white outs by playing dominos in ski goggles, we cooked and fed one another copious amounts of delicious food, we laughed and danced through wet alkaline while admiring each others foot wear, and we ventured out into the cold nights to admire the stunning art scattered across the playa.

No drama, no tears, no fears, no fighting, no hate. Good people coexisting with good people; surviving, bonding, sharing, and exploring the desert together.

Thank you to all my wonderful family and
at Burning Man, New Orleans, and across the states, who have supported me in my journey out to the Black Rock Desert for almost a decade. Thank you, especially, to Brit, and Panda, my Leads who constructed our camp from the ground up, and helped me with every single thing I didn’t even think of. Nothing could have been done without you both ❤️‍🔥

Thank you all for welcoming me into another rotation with excitement, friendship, and the deepest love. I am honored to be so close with such a vibrant, diverse, creative, and fiercely protective community ❤️‍🔥 I feel more aligned and in tune with the universe than I ever have, and it took fears, tears, sweat, blood, and sleepless nights to get this far.
