Proud moment!

One of my original stories on Victor Osimhen has been cited in the amazing book Nigeria’s World Best, authored by the talented Oyekunle Temitayo.

Huge congratulations and a big thank you for this recognition and for putting together such a brilliant work celebrating Nigerian excellence! I still remember discussing with Obiajuru Nomso before heading to Olusosun in Ojota to talk to people in the area — just a week before Napoli sealed the Serie A title.

At that point, Osimhen was already lighting up Italian football, and he finished the 2022/23 season with an incredible 26 league goals in 32 appearances, claiming the Capocannoniere (Serie A top scorer) award — the first African player ever to do so.

Across all competitions that season, he scored 31 goals in 39 appearances for Napoli (including 5 in the Champions League as they reached the quarter-finals). His equaliser against Udinese on 4 May 2023 helped clinch the Scudetto — Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years.

That campaign also brought him the Serie A Best Striker award, recognition as one of the standout performers of the season (including AIC/Gran Galà honours), and later the 2023 CAF African Footballer of the Year award (the first Nigerian to win it since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999).

He even finished 8th in the Ballon d’Or rankings. What a special season for Osimhen and for Nigerian football. Grateful that a piece of that story found its way into Temiayo’s book. Thank you again. taken in New Jersey, USA by @jideorevba

Appearing on Channels TV hours before the Argentina vs Cape Verde fixture, I analyzed that the small island nation would not surrender easily.

While I expected Argentina to ultimately prevail, I emphasized that the victory would not come without a significant challenge. I also highlighted that we would witness a beautiful and entertaining match — and that is precisely what unfolded. by @jideorevba

Appearing on Sports Tonight on Channels Television last night, I shared my thoughts on the ongoing AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.

I raised serious concerns about the standard of refereeing we've seen so far in the competition, and stressed that CAF must prioritise fairness and impartiality, especially in the high-stakes final on Sunday, January 18, where Senegal will face the host nation, Morocco, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. With the home crowd factor and everything on the line, transparent officiating will be crucial to ensure a credible outcome.

I also threw my full support behind Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, urging the Nigeria Football Federation to keep him in charge even after the tournament. Despite Nigeria's semifinal exit on penalties to Morocco, Chelle has brought stability, impressive attacking play and a clear vision. He deserves the chance to continue building this squad beyond AFCON. by @jideorevba
