10 days ago, on May 24, 2026 at exactly 3:04PM, we helped our beloved @audreythemaltipoo cross the rainbow bridge. She was 13.She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She crossed on a good day. Lots of hugs and kisses (and humping too!). When it was time, I held her in my arms, Singing her favorite lullaby, just like i did when I would put her to sleep when she was a pup. No tears because i wanted her to feel safe and that it was ok to cross. I’m sorry if it took a while for papa to give you a proper tribute, my love. Papa @iamjbty, @lolathehighlandmaltie, and I miss you so much and we’ve been trying our best to carry on despite the immense pain, because i’m sure that’s what you would have wanted. You showed us so much love, strength and bravery, even in your final days. And we wish to honor you with the same love, strength and bravery as we navigate through our grief.So on your 10th day running free over the rainbow bridge, here are 10 things we will miss about you. Audrey the Maltipoo had taste, had style, and had the most devoted dad in @jigsmayuga. They’ve been our friends since 2015, the year they got their Bowsket. Jigs actually just ordered her a new cover for her bed, but she left before we could send it over. I was devastated about it, but her daddy said it was ok. Audrey’s sister Lola will get the Bowsket now. I’d like to think that’s exactly how Audrey would have wanted it…the end of her story, and the start of Lola’s. 🕊️🤍Rest easy, sweet girl. I first met @audreythemaltipoo on November 24, 2019 when @jigsmayuga invited me over to his house. Audrey was about to turn seven back then.When I entered Jigs’s house, Audrey greeted me with her usual strong bark and began asserting herself by humping my leg. It was only a few years later that I realized that Audrey’s habit of humping my leg was not just her way of asserting herself, but also a way for her to tell me that she loved me.Audrey was strong and independent. But Audrey was also very sweet and protective of her papas. Although I’ve only been with Audrey for half of her life, Audrey and I got very close. Whenever I’d come home, she would always greet me with her licks and kisses, and she would always expose her tummy for belly rubs.Audrey was a fighter. She’s battled through a heart condition for three years. But her health detiorated late last year when our doctors found out that she had a tumor near her liver. She was only meant to live until December of last year, but she held on and kept fighting.Earlier this year, our doctors discovered another tumor near her trachea. These tumors were mostly cancerous. But she was too old to go through biopsy and cancer treatment, so we weren’t really sure. She’s undergone two aspirations to remove fluids in her chest cavity, including blood that was likely oozing out of the tumors.Yesterday, we brought her to the vet to get clearance for us to bring her on one last trip. But her condition got progressively worse even after her second aspiration last Thursday. So, it was time to put Audrey to sleep.We’re glad that Audrey left on a good day. As she’s had some bad days where she would not eat and would just rather sleep. We’re happy that Audrey was surrounded not just by family and friends, but also her doctors, nurses, and assistants, who all truly cared for her and loved her.I don’t know if pet parents can truly prepare for the loss of a pet, but Jigs and I are taking comfort in the fact that Audrey lived a full life. Audrey brought so much love and life to our family. Audrey was a big sister to Lola, and would sometimes discipline Lola whenever Lola gets too giddy 😆 by @jigsmayuga
